Let us choose our mission lengths.

Self explanatory title, and I’m sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I thought I’d suggest it any way.

Let us choose between short/medium/long missions or something.

All would work within the 3 hour range, but instead of having short missions such as “gain 12,000 combat XP” for 1000 credits let us choose long missions for the likes of “gain 30,000 combat XP” for 3000 credits.

It might even help promote people to play longer. I know a lot of people at the moment who only play when their missions are available and then log off again as soon as they’ve completed them. Which sounds dumb, I know, it is a game and mostly about having fun, but who knows.

Just a suggestion none the less.

Pretty stupid idea if you ask me. Would be way, way too easy to farm credits. Besides, it already is easy to get credits, no point in making it easier.

Fair enough.

If the differences would be more significant between how much you have to earn, I’d actually like it, as I like to play the game daily, but every now and then I have to give up most of my missions as I don’t have the time to really work on all of them.

As of now, as long as you can do your missions in a single game mode, you can possibly finish all 3 of them, even if they’re all 3 star missions. Now, if the values would change to like 10k, 20k, 30k something xp with equally fitting rewards I think it would be great.
But as the missions currently are, I doubt there will be any change.

If this happens, simply there is no reason to have 3hours mission refills.

Everybody is going to choose Total XP mission which is best for farming credits, like @Hibbsan said.

I think he means that you can pick the mission size, from one to whatever stars, not the type.
Just so those who want to play longer can kind of extend their missions and get a higher reward, not pick the type and the size of the missions.

And now a little off the current topic…

If we would be able to choose our mission types, I think they should be very specific instead of all this: total/combat/support/game mode xp.

Pick the missions you want for your current squad:
X sniper headshot kills.(or melee/secondary/ability kills)
X amount health provided. (or ammo provided/revives)
X points contributed to the objectives.(or plant/defuse) etc.

If these would be somewhat balanced between each other, I think maybe then we’d be allowed to pick our own missions. I think it would be cool to pick challenges for the squad you want to play with. But again, probably too much work to put into to make all of them feel equal.

Nothing to add to discussion since I don’t mind the current implementation at all. But I just had to pop by to say this response was so gentlemanly I actually had to put a hat on indoors to raise it for you.

That’s pretty much what I was meaning. Sorry, I should have clarified that. I wasn’t meaning that you can pick an actual XP size and for how many credits, but just to give us more variation than we currently are. Short (500 credits), medium (1000 credits) and long (3000 credits?) would be plenty. At the moment you can quite literally sometimes log in and do all 3 missions in 1 single game lasting about 15 minutes. Not often but sometimes. Mostly when they all fall in the same kinda category eg “Gain 12,000 total XP in Stopwatch” mixed with “Gain 8000xp combat XP with Fragger in your squad” - you can do both in 1 hit kinda thing, and it is over pretty quickly.

I mean obviously yeah, letting people pick their own sizes and/or how many credits worth would result in ridiculous credit farming, but I think adding some 3000 credit missions that actually take a good hour to an hour and a half to do couldn’t be all that bad? Most people probably wouldn’t even want to do it, but it gives us players who want to play for longer a chance to get something worth while.

Haha, well there is no point arguing about it. Think it’s going to be a pretty black and white response. People will either love it or hate it.

No. Missions are given, not chosen.

(doxjq) #10

You wouldn’t be choosing your missions.

(Atagi) #11

I suggest they work on the reason why people log off so fast.

Most matches are unbalanced thats why I log off after I finished all missions. It also gets kinda dull playing the same modes and maps over and over.

I wouldnt mind such choice, but id prefer difficulty setting steepness increasing at greater exponential rate than reward. So, instead of requirements becoming lower per credit point per difficulty it would be the other way around.
