Less intense game mode please. Game intensity VS Session time played

Objective vs Stopwatch is basically the same kind of high constant intensity.
So I suggest to add new game mode for DB, for more bursts of intensity than constant intensity.
I basically would like a Search and destroy mode or similar for DB

Very high intensity

  • Titanfall
I can play this max 2 hours, then Im “wrecked”. This combined with bad titan integration (too much, too many titans), made this game fail as a game I can play. After I reached max level I never touched the game again basically.

  • Dirty Bomb
Max 1-2 hours. Then either the last games was not satisfactory from a) team not giving HP or ammo, or b) not attacking or defending together so we just die 1 after 1 vs 6.
But also because the constant high intensity.

High intensity

  • COD BO2 Domination
I can play only a couble of hours before I feel drained, or have lost focus and therefor perform worse. I only play this mode to rank up (on nuketown) or when friends are playing it

Low to medium intensity
with “bursts” of superhigh intensity / superhigh focus

  • COD BO2 Search & Destroy
I can play this mode for a whole day, since its not constant strain on focus.

TL;DR
To be able play a game mode in DB, where you can play longer, is my suggestion.
I would enjoy it more then.

Some suggestions for this less intense mode.

  • 12 slots still
  • Lower speed for walking and running (I guess ET or COD speed would be good)
  • Remove the worst chaotic maps from the maprotation
  • I guess a bit higher spread would be needed also when movement speed is lowered. (ET or COD spread would be good)
  • Rate of fire (basicly lowering ROF a bit for the most speedy weapons)
  • Maybe more things

Bottom line:
I want to play DB more time, but cant due to its constant high demand for focus.

Anyone else feels similar?

Edit 2:

Strike all this.

3v3 with current settings makes it lots less intense, and even more “educating” since now you have some time to breath and actually LOOK at the map, the game interface.

TL;DR

Add a new alternative mode:

  • 3v3 mode please, for less intense games.
    OR
  • 6v6 with slower settings.

In a similar vein the option to disable/reset stats tracking would be nice, it’s fun to dick about without ruining your progress.

I do somewhat agree though that you have to be in the mood to actually pay attention, which isn’t always the mood I’m in.

I don’t necessarily agree with all the suggested changes though, a different mode would be preferable to butchering an existing one.

What we really need is mods…

I find DB very intense compared to a lot of other games, it has been improved a bit with the extension of spawn times (it was crazy before) but the small size of the maps is a double edged sword in that you are in the action right away but there is no downtime. I can play for an hour or so before tiredness / irritability kicks in and its time to r/q. ET:QW for instance has massive maps so you can recover a bit between objectives, plus distance to objective is a lot greater. W:ET was pretty intense but again there was generally a greater distance to objective / longer spawn times.

Maybe the view-bobbing / juddering is a factor? Don’t really notice the bobbing much though (the judder is annoying).

Dome is the exception, its a lot bigger with more freedom of movement and I can play it for longer + there’s the novelty factor.

I used to be able to play Q2 for hours on end which is a lot more intense than this (not sure I could now) so a lot of it is probably old age :).

i probably will not ever play a search&destroy mod or team elimination, because i get bored realy quickly.
but i totally agree, that DB stopwatch needs bigger maps. with longer routes and areas

I enjoy current tension and speed of the rounds. However I can see DB can feel bit of exhausting to someone who doesn’t really have roots in Arena shooters.

this. 100% true. ffa@quake with 16 players at tiny maps makes you immunitive to intensity.
but for a realy good flow of the game intencity has to be oscillating. so that you have normal areas, where you can regroup, get some ammo, even wait for respawned teammates, and then make a push.

I think those areas you mention are covered well. Whitechapel has lot of places you mention, so does few other maps. I can imagine only Trainyard’s first part and Victoria being serious lackluster ones.

and Dome has a lot of calm places. so i am not worriing too much. especially since all maps are being reworked to adjust travel times, which is basically it.

My suggestion was for this slower mode to be official and stats enabled.

(People (95%?) wont play anything that doesnt give them stats or promotions in the game.)

I played some 3v3 now, and it is A LOT less intense, than 6v6.

I can even satisfy with currents settings, if one just lower the amount of players.

It is also great for players to have time and focus on the map, and understand the objectives.

You’re joking right?

Less players is way more intense than more, every move you make matters much much more.

He has to be joking!

3 v 3 is crazy stressful!

Its all dependent on classes and team work at that point.

I want to /quit on attackers!!

I find 3vs3 a lot less stressfull.

Also easier to wait up, and run together to obj, or def obj.

Im not kidding at all.

But Im not claiming it is experienced the same for me, as for you.

Dome feels okay but I am bit of between does it make team too scattered. Dirty Bomb should be teamwork based run 'n gun experience and cramped maps makes you naturally stick with teammates as you’ve lesser space to work with.
