Leftover excess external lightmap generated by q3map2?

Was noticing that every single time I make any map for Enemy Territory with external lightmaps… I end up with one extra lightmap that’s completely solid black.

Is this a bug, having an extra unused lightmap, or is this ‘solid black’ lightmap used for something? And yes, I verified, it’s completely black, 100% (0,0,0) coloured for every single pixel.

Recent builds of Q3Map2 generate an even number of lightmaps, regardless of how many are used. This is for styled lightmap optimization. If it’s unused, you can safely delete the extra lightmap.

Any particular reason these would occur on maps that don’t use any styled lights at all?

Ah, okay. Tied it to the ‘this is for styled lightmap optimization’ as reading that somehow the new ‘even lightmaps all the time’ should only happen if I was using styled lightmaps originally. :slight_smile:
