I just left a comp game because I needed to win a game for a challenge and we were getting stomped as offense on Bridge so it wasn’t fun and I wasn’t getting XP because I had a shit team. Now I can not play the game AT ALL because it forces my game to close when I refuse to rejoin. Is this a bug or a feature? If it is a feature they need to remove it or remove the requirement to play comp for a challenge.
Leaving a Comp Game
It is a feature, it is a penalty for leaving a competitive match since there is no way to fill that slot once you leave… this makes the rest of the game unfair for everyone else. That’s not the main reason but it’s one of them. Were they to remove this feature it would make competitive useless to play and as such you’re better off playing Stopwatch, which we already are.
My suggestion, never ever, ever, attempt the Win X Competitive Matches mission, they are not going to be fun for you, or anyone, unless you only roll with a full group. Just cancel them and move onto other mission requirements, they are not worth the hassle.
That’s why I never give competitive a chance either.
Random teams make bad cohesion.
You’re not required to do any mission at all. If you don’t agree to playing out the entire game, then don’t play competitive matchmaking. All you do is ruin the game for 9 others.
The whole point of competitive is that it is “supposed” to be pre-assembled teams of equal skill pitted against each other. If you drop out and make it 4v5, you are deliberately giving your team-mates a disadvantage. It is rightfully telling you to rejoin the game, because you committed to it.
However in this instance we can see the issue arose from the fact that you are being “forced” to play a competitive mission which you might not wish to do. Now as others are said, you can simply trash these missions if you don’t want to do them, then wait for the next mission reset however as we all can also agree - that sucks, because you want your credits.
Hopefully we’ll see some key changes to these missions in the near future, because forcing players to play competitive is NEVER the way to create a competitive scene, it will just fill it with people who simply don’t want to play it and then you’re basically just turning it into a pub match.
I would advise in future if you are going to play competitive, commit to playing it and don’t drop out, it’s a very selfish thing to do - after all, this is a team game. Hope this helps explain it.

Comp missions can stay, but the win X comp missions definitely needs to go.
I think play competitive is even worse as a mission because the people who are just doing it for credits have literally zero incentive to even try. They’ll just queue up, suck ass, and be happy knowing they get their credits either way.
At least with the win competitive mission they are compelled to try their best.
I don’t think they should have comp missions at all, or if they really insist on it, make it so you have to win it. Either you cancel the mission because you don’t wanna bother trying to win a comp, or you have to actually try.
As of now right now we’ve got the worst of both worlds.

I feel as though the best solution would be to have competitive missions unlock and be possible at a certain ranking, so for instance you’d only get Play X Competitive or Win X Competitive after you’ve reached rank Gold 1 or around there since it displays you have an actual interest in the mode.
Another good solution I’ve seen someone else on the forums suggest before is to make competitive missions its own mission cycle.
As in, you have your 3 regular missions, and a competitive mission separate from it. Then again, who knows, maybe the people whining about comp missions now would whine about them still since they don’t get all 4 without playing comp :’( :’( :’("
Another solution off the top of my head: have there be some preference where you can opt in to getting comp missions, otherwise they don’t have a chance to show up in your missions.
