Hi all,
I am having a problem when i am compiling a map.
My map is leaking and this is what it says:
— LeakFile —
2 point linefile
MAP LEAKED
Can Someone plz help me.
I’ve followed the red line but there is no hole, ive caulked the outside of the skybox but it still leaks.
Plz somebody help me w/o tellin me to search i have tried.
It’s most likely coming from an entity with an origin key that is outside of the skybox. (Thus placing it outside of the skybox for compile)
Anytime that you import entities, be sure to view the ‘origin key’ to see if it is updating itself. Good luck searching for it.
Edit: you could always open the .map file in NOTEPAD and do a search for the LEAKPOINT numbers… this may speed up your searching process.
try looking for entites inside structureal brushes
to speed up compiles when testing light on a map i make a bug caulk brush over most of my map. when compiled everyhting inside gets ignored so you just get the needed region
however entites inside it like lights leak… turning off stop compile on leak is ok for testing but id surgest tracking down this before ur final compile
If you compile with Radiant, a small window pops up with something like “entity 666 leaked”. If you click on this line in the small window, the criticised entity will be selected. Now you can move/delete/whatever it.
An entity leak can be solved by moving the entity, a map leak cannot.
It’s best to go to the entity as Shaderman said, but follow the red line instead.
At some moment it will go into the void, showing you were the leak is.
NOTE: If you have been messing with “make detail”, the red line can even go straight trough a brush as “detail brushes” don’t seal off your map.
