Ldder just wont work liek I want to !

(Glo) #1

Thats the alpha ladder texture, It doesn’t fit in right, and you can also see the 2 little squares below in the water, that isn’t correct either, how do I fix that?
Don’t wanna use model !

(Pande) #2

first of all… what are the squares? brushes? secondly… why use an image for ladder? :o

(Magic) #3

You will also need “textures/common/ladder” with that.

(Sternschubser) #4

first make brush nodraw (under common)
select single side and set the alphaladder texture
then add a new brush in front and make em ladder (under common)

(Darkix) #5

For the ladder having 2 sides, you need to make the brush thiner. Change the view, zoom in, and size it down to the smallest you can get. All of that on the 2D view btw.

(IndyJones) #6

put nodraw on all other sides.

(Flippy) #7

NO!

There is no need to make the brush smaller; you just put the visual ladder texture on all sides. You only need to put it on one side, and put common/nodraw on all other sides (invisible).

(Pande) #8

but i still dont get it why use an image? :o

Or you could do that yes.

(Pegazus) #10

Same, making the ladder handles by brushes is way better visual then that texture.

(IndyJones) #11

because image is easier to apply at angles. also, it saves fps. ladder with brushes doesn’t necesarily look good.

(Glo) #12

Thanks guys my ladder works now !
