Launcher doesnt launch the game: Error2

I downloaded the latest patch, wanted to fire the game up and this happens:

Application could not be launched. [Error 2] The System cannot find the specified data

The stuff after [Error 2] is translated from german to english, maybe the original wording of the error code is different.
I didnt change the install directory, nor did I change any cfgs, I just downloaded the update. The last build was running.

When you open the launcher or the game?

I tried starting the game via the extraction short cut and I tried starting from the launcher, same error.

Try closing launcher, deleting <Install Path>\Library\extraction\patchdata\20400.build_26863.manifest.hash, starting launcher, clicking play.

Ah yea sorry I changed my library location, have a look in launcher settings for “Game installation location”.

So, uninstalled the game, uninstalled the launcher, installed the launcher, installed the game again, same error.

I’m done with this crap

Root of the issue, sophos blocks extraction because of virus/trojan stuff.
So, I wait till the next update, till then, have a nice time extraction.

Haha, not surprising, XIGNCODE3 has some nasty stuff going on under the hood.

Why don’t you just tell Sophos to allow access?

I have the same error message. Turning off Avast Antivirus for ten minutes while trying again, did not solve the problem. Will try different things and post here again soon.

Had this error2 issue today… confirming deleting the hash file worked.

Sophos detected some malware/trojan and put the .exe in quarantine.

Disabled Sophos (because I dont know how to set up an exception for DB) and now I can play again. It is just a workaround, I hope SD&Nexon fix this AV Software issues. If this doesnt change and Sophos detects some virus/malware/trojan, I wont play this game …

OK, I have tested some stuff, and (thankfully) I’ve had the same experience as Humate. Things started to work again, once I had found and removed that specific hash-file.

This a known issue that we’re looking to address through an upcoming release. It’s a false positive. Do with that information what you wish ;).
