Lauching issue

So recently i sometimes close dirty bomb directly by pressing alt+F4 while midgame, the game does close but does this affect the launching of db and if so is there any solution?

Would you please describe your problem a bit more in detail?
I don’t know of any launching issues when you’ve closed Dirty Bomb via the Alt+F4 key combination.

So what happens is while im playing in a match in a panic i immediately press alt+f4 the game just freezes and then closes after a few seconds but i have done this method of closing numerous times, and now i cant launch dirty bomb. i have tried various methods imposed on the forums also but they dont work. so does pressing alt+f4 affect the launch of dirty bomb?

I see. What happens when you try to launch it?
What steps have you taken to troubleshoot the problem?

Definitely try to verify the game files if you haven’t done so yet.

@Kirays i have tried verifying the game files it said that all of them were validated, i even turned off AVG, i even disabled the steam overlay in-game and none have worked so far

sorry I thought you got an answer peppycandle… hmmm… the only other things I know about are maybe reinstall DirectX, or try launching DB after starting your computer in safe mode with networking. I honestly don’t know if either of those are relevant though. I know I use Alt F4 to force close DB when it freezes. Some times though it does not close all of DB’s processes though and I can not launch something that is already running. You have tried reinstalling correct? sorry if I missed that.

@The_N00B i have tried reinstalling the game but i even tried restarting my comp in safe mode with networking. even that didnt work but i guess i’ll try restarting the comp again in safe mode with networking

yeah apparently that is another possible solution. I have a feeling something is blocking DB from running but without knowing exactly what programs you have running in the back ground it really could be anything I think. Programs are funny like that. definitely do what Kirays suggests. Get some people who know computers better to help you out. sadly I am no expert. It has got to be something simple. :slight_smile:

You could just… uh… not spam alt+f4 “in a panic” while playing a match. I can’t understand a single valid reason you’d default to randomly pressing alt+f4 to close your game. Try gracefully exiting the game, the normal way.

Essentially you’re abruptly ending the operation using the OS then wondering why the game is having issues. This is like saying “well I wanted to change the tires on my car so I loosened the nuts and let them roll off while I drive down the street and my car is unable to move now because it has no tires :(”

@sneak im well aware but does closing the game using ‘alt+f4’ affect how the game launches?

shouldn’t but you’re talking about abnormally ending the process so I guess you could say if no safeguards were put into DB to save things before-hand in anticipation of players who use alt+f4 something may get corrupted but that’s all speaking theoretically… have no idea.
