I can see that being more difficult to do as a heavy, I guess we’ll see how it plays out, I hope the “hit box” for the knock down isnt larger then the model.
EDIT: Would jumping work?

Maybe theres an ability that reduces your chance of getting knocked down.
Would also be cool if you could SMART over the top of the player sliding if you seen it coming.
KD == Incap?
No, you can get back up from knockdown. Incap you need a medic.
from what i gathered no, KD =! Incap, from the video “knocked down target are only stunned for a moment and can fire back from the ground” which I guess they get up progressively when you hit jump or after a certain short time.
woah. almost missed that last “basic gameplay” trailer.
you shouldnt release news so shortly after another. thought the big news today was the dedicated server faq and completely skipped the other news.
anyways. nice stuff. i really dont know about the movement speed though. hoping one of the netvars will be com_runspeed or whatever maybe this will be even patched later if we scream loud enough.
works with blizzard, should work with splash damage, too.
Makes sense, otherwise it would raise a whole other load of questions
Downed Fire springs to mind
But if they aren’t the same then that’s more logical
yeah not the same, also the in the video the KD shoots with his main gun, Downed Fire lets you use your handgun/backup weapon only.
The part where they’re explaining that melee attacks on downed people result in instant death? I’m pretty sure that guy was a medium, which would mean that his secondary weapon could be just as good as his primary.
Wondering if you see him coming in with a side tackle and counter with a slide tackle. Well, assuming you can react that fast. Lets just say, for funzies, two opponents happen to slide tackle into each other…does the heavier guy win, or the guy that starts the slide first…
Hmm can heavies have heavy weapons as backups? Downed fire plus Nade launcher as backup
Although thats a real longshot
agreed.
I think the weapon breakdown is this…
Light = Max of SMG/long rifle main, pistol backup
Med = Max of assault rifle main, SMG/pistol backup
Heavy = anything for main, AR or less backup
a Molotov to the face will disable a sliding tackle. It’s proven. WITH SCIENCE!
Stupid noob question: What’s the idiosyncracy of the Molotov? Does it DoT? Or is it simply “More damage, no knockdown”?
It was holding forward, was there any skill lost by automating it within a certain distance?
