Oh so like duct-tape makes it sticky and you only have to pull the mag out w/o pressing the button.

(tokamak) #42

Oh okay cool.

(potkettleblack) #43

That just looked like a grip to me : /

Everybody hugs digibob!

So the question is : On the vehicles escort mission, does it works like W:ET/TF² where you need to stay close to it to make the vehicle moving, or will you have engi sticking near to it everytime to repair the vehicle to make it moving forward ?
Because IMO it would be really disappointing if it’s the 2nd option.

according to the recently released previews and what people said about their experiences, it’s W:ET style where the team has to be near the vehicle in order for it to move.

Along the way there will be obstacles that require different classes to get through.
(well at least that’s what I’ve picked up)

(DarkangelUK) #46

Very early hands-on tests confirmed back then that you just go near it ET style to make it move, I’m assuming nothing has changed since then.

(darthmob) #47

I doubt murka was serious there. A duct-taped magazine may simply be two clips taped together. Something like this.

(H0RSE) #48

I think the way duct-taped mags work in the game is, instead of having to pull out the mag and switch it with a completely new one, you just take out the empty mag, turn it, and put the full, duct taped on in, shortening reload time.

It very deliberately works just like W:ET.

(light_sh4v0r) #50

Great, at least there’s no more invulnerable MCP driver

(AnthonyDa) #51

Great, then why the guy on the video is firing a whole clip on the vehicle?

(potkettleblack) #52

Because their testers are nubs :frowning:

(light_sh4v0r) #53

I think he was a pro ETQW player desperately trying to get a beta spot

edit: it’s been a long time since I played W:ET, but I’m quite sure you could disable the tank there too.

The tank was an escort mission on goldrush and had to be repaired at the beginning, the allies then had to escort it through the village and destroy the barriers on the way. I don’t think you could damage the tank but i could be wrong, but you could damage the truck on the last objective.

(digibob) #55

You could damage the tank, just only with explosives.

(Locki) #56

Hands-on was not playing ‘Skinny’ body type… BRINK caters for different preferences (including player speed), but with fair advantages and penalties at all times (there won’t be any skinny players running around firing heavy machine guns from the hip  )

(light_sh4v0r) #57

Ah, so it’s not entirely like W:ET then, unless the player in the video was clueless.

(Killgar) #58

It’s a robot, not a Panzer…maybe small arms fire can damage it.

(Kum0) #59

Awesome footage.

Really hyped for this! Q1 2011 is looking like a action packed month, Brink, GoW3, Bulletstorm.

This is definatly on the list… what else is going to join it
