“Tough as nails” Security side, Hard Mode, what’s the trick to beating this bastard? Have done all

the rest of the campaigns Security and Resistance, this is PC not Console… any advice would be

appreciated.

What is your problem exactly? You need a hint for a specific mission or what? Sorry, I dont understand what you need.

I’m guessing the OP has reached level 20 and is now getting insta-head shot killed by all the enemy bots whilst his own bot team are running round in their usual headless chicken routine.

Well I’m on console, but based on my understanding our friendly bots are dumber than yours and enemy AI in campaign is approximately the same atm. The only levels that caused me a problem are Shipyard (3 days of trying an hour or 2 a day) and CC (took 2x). Everything else beaten on first run through. I did them all at level 20 and I did them with a 1 other lvl 20 player (I’m sure this made my life easier). I did the whole thing with only OP/Medic/General skills and my buddy was an Engi.

I could give you general advice about playing solo with bots, basically stay solely focused on the objective, but it would be way easier if you could be more specific about what you need help with.

Shipyard and Aquarium are tough sledding on Xbox. Both require a lot of patience. And practice. Knowing the inside and out of each map is huge. Make sure command posts are captured. It is very good to have a couple of humans playing with you for a bit more fun, and a lot less teeth-gnashing.

I’m trying to complete the “Tough as nails” achievement by beating all the offline campaigns in “Hard mode”

I’ve done them all except “Day 6: Early Launch” Security side… “Repair the crane- Hack the missile” Every time

I complete a campaign I jump out and sell what I gained to stay at level 1. Hoping that would help keep the

opposing bots from being to aggressive.

That’s one way to do it. I did it with a 20lvl. That way I could use all of my abilities and make it more fun. Not sure what advice I can give you if you are doing it with a lvl 1 other than find some other people to try teaming up with.

I suppose I could try it with one of my 20’s, just thought it would be easier at lvl 1.

Does Tough As Nails need to be done with the same character? Anyone know. I forgot. I’d help ya, but I am on Xbox.

That’s a good question, even if I somehow complete it with another character it may not count.

I’m pretty sure you can use different characters to complete the “Tough as Nails” achievement. If I’m recalling correctly I used two of mine to get through all the missions.

Early Launch was the most difficult. I was able to complete it on hard though, but only with help from my son. He played medic while I played revived bullet sponge.

Thought maybe I should be a Soldier to keep the barricades down, maybe the bots can repair the crane. I know, I

know… and maybe monkey’s will fly out my ass! Worth a try anyway… the Soldier, not the monkey’s. :eek:

What a frickin joke, how unbalanced can you get for christ sakes… it doesn’t matter what character you use, your bots are worthless, the enemy bots use aimbots… headshot after headshot. Once in ten- you make it past the crane, your lucky to get a taste of hacking the missile before they kick you to the curb. This is not fun- it’s suppose to be fun right? frustrating is more like it.
Fix the hack so it stay’s like the Engineer, that would help on this map. Then balance this bitch out… The security has way to far to run from there spawn area to get back in the fight. The Resistance can roll out of bed and there playing defense :confused: I enjoy playing this game don’t get me wrong… but if I need to bring in help to beat one map? that’s just not right!

have you tried versus, i’ve heard it balances out the bots…

Freeplay- Launch Standard Match- “Play Mode- Versus” and then choose Shipyard, yep… have beaten it that way before, but it will not complete the “Tough as nails” achievement. :frowning:

Actually, I’ve heard you don’t unlock in freeplay.

I’m going for the achievement atm. Go into campaign, pick your mission, then change co-op to verses and visibility to Everyone.

I used a lvl 20 to get thru all the defensive missions and am currently using a lvl 6 to get thru offensive. Finished the Resistance offensive. Hopefully finishing the Security offensive tonight. Will post again to let you know if I got it.

Are you on a PC? because I did what you said and I can’t change “co-op to verses” you may be able to do that on a console I don’t know.

I don’t think you can on the PC version. At least I have never been able too. I absolutely raaaggggedd about the bots on Refuel when doing the resistance campaign AT LVL 16. Mainly cos your bots steal the damn fuel, run up to the plane and then stand there. They don’t finish the obj, you can’t TK them to pick it up and then they decide to run toward the enemy spawn gaaaarrrrrr!!!

PC bots need serious sorting out.

Play Co-op on Hard.
I managed to get the achievement (PC) by playing hard co-op through everything. Makes it far more enjoyable having some people on your side. Managed to do the final security missions with a full group of humans. Made it far simpler than having to deal with crazy team bots :slight_smile:
