I installed Brink yesterday and was happy as a little child as I saw the Splash Damage emblem. So I started my first game offline and it lagged so much I can’t play. I already set all the graphics to the lowest setting but it keeps laggy.
Here my sys:
Win7 Ultimate x64
Nvidia Geforce 9500GT
Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q8300 (4x2.5 GHz)
And about 100 GB on my hard drive

Standard procedure:
-Make sure Ambient Occlusion is off.
-Make sure VSYNC is off.
Next to that, single player is capped at 30fps. Regardless what the game or FRAPS or anything else tells you. But it sounds like you’re getting less than that as well…

Also, please keep in Mind that even though the 9500GT does sound like it meets the minimum requirements for nVidia cards (which would be 8800) it’s actually at the lowest imaginable end of the performance spectrum, so lowering your display quality settings (resolution, texture and shadow detail etc.) would be a good idea.
I already did all the things you told me but it didn’t want to work though. Ok it became slightly better but it’s still unplayable.

Game is horrible (I don’t care much), but perfectly playable (“perfectly” being 30 to 45 FPS in MP)

However I’ve to correct myself: The game’s real laggy but you can play it. It’s not very easy to hit somebody anyway and your config doesn’t change much. Before i changed the config i had about 10 fps but after the exchange it still was about 10 fps
I realized right now that i forget to upgrade my graphics. I’ll try it in a few sec again
[DICK]There’s a big difference between lag and low fps/poor performance, for some reason people report them as the same issue when in fact they are 2 entirely different things… we’d get on much better if issues were reported correctly to begin with[/DICK]

After i updated my graphics the game runs at 20 fps which is enough for me to play this great game
