LAG makes online UNPLAYABLE, please acknowledge

Look, this game would be REALY fun…if it worked!

First of all, PLEASE don’t ask about routers, connections, or anything else…this issue is widespread and will absolutely KILL this game DEAD if it is not addressed immediately.

Check the forums here, at Bethesda, gamefaqs, xbl forums, IGN, Kotaku, etc…

It’s not even minor lag…it’s warping, walking in place, and freezing CONSTANTLY!

I have played as the host, and in games where the hist was wired and on a router, and i have played with and without a router…same result.

please at least acknowledge the problem before half of your games end up on ebay or used at gamestop!

Are you playing on console or PC? On PC I’ve encountered the odd server that has lag, freezing, and rubberbanding, but otherwise it’s quite smooth. I was having a little bit of video lag but toning down textures by one setting cleared that up too.

I had weird lag on PC to start with, but I adjusted some settings to improve my FPS and the lag went away. It certainly felt like net-lag, but my low (30) FPS seemed to cause it.

I’m playing on a wired console and after playing for 5 hours yesterday, I had probably 10 games that didnt lag at all… but with only a few players.

Shouldn’t be having this problem with PC anymore…

(ultraddtd) #6

Yeah, it’s definitely a console problem.

(Hyperplutonium) #7

How bad is the lag? Is it like really really bad?

(Coin Op) #8

From my experience this morning it’s been unplayable.

We did a 5 hour broadcast last night and had only 1 server hiccup that lasted maybe 30 secs…

In my own gameplay, I’ve experienced almost no lag issues.

Hate to say it, but it’s not Brink (on the PC).

(iheartchainsaw) #10

It’s either super laggy/unplayable or your on a team with one person and the rest are bots. I had 2 pretty full unlaggy games pretty late last night thought. And it was glorious.

Dayumn was hoping to get some good game time friday night

(AntiCitizenJuan) #12

Its so bad you cant play multiplayer. Im forced to play coop :frowning:

(Coin Op) #13

Yeah last night it was fine. However this morning, ugh.

(ThePilgrim101) #14

It waxes and wanes.

Sometimes it’s pretty good and then other times it’s totally ridiculous.

I’m not surprised. Most online games have been like this the past couple years.

It’ll be fixed eventually, I’d wager.

It’s the net code written by SD for XBL. Live is working fine right now, and it’s just Brink that’s having problems. The day-one patch was supposed to fix this issue, but it hasn’t. I’d assume their working on getting this fixed at this time, since it was a problem that was known before launch. Unfortunately, we don’t have PSN up to see if they have the same problem.

How about changing the thread’s name to XBOX? Not every platform has these issues.

(Byoush) #17

Yup I have to agree with you. The lag on xbox makes it sometimes unplayable. I might get 1 good game out of ten bad ones. I hope they fix this soon.

The server I have seems to be working fine. Everyone I’ve talked to that has played on it has complimented how it is lag free. Any other PC users experiencing lag? If so, choose another server.
