Lag, FPS drops or just the way it's supposed to be?

Am I imagining things or am I really lagging? The game really doesn’t feel smooth, and as you can see from the video, it feels like I’m dropping mad fps. Also, I believe i receive a lot of dmg when I’m already behind walls as opposed to when I’m shooting people. Which is fine if playing with or against high pings but that wasn’t the case. I’ve been playing like this since the beginning when I had a **** PC. It’s a lot better now but still… shouldn’t it be smoother? What am I missing here?

I’m running everything on LOW:

I just got home and played a few games… outrageously laggy and skippy. It puts your video to shame, I’ll have to record tomorrow. I’m not sure what is causing it either because my FPS doesn’t drop below 125 ever and my ping is stable. GTX980 SC here…

even in tutorial my fps is way down, from 120 to 70

Okay well I was able to fix my lag, was internet related apparently. I throttled my router on and off for a bit and it finally went away (at least not that I can tell now) so that may have been a local issue for me.

I think most of the time people complain about FPS drops, its related to networking, and not game performance itself.

I’ve experienced stable and very unstable networks while playing DB, FPS differences are staggering. Same stuff as in QW, if you lag: you’ll FPS will jump all over the place.

mine is absolutely game performance. my fps drops to 10 with massive stuttering in firefights for no reason at all. ut3 runs at over 80 fps steady regardless of whats going on around me.

I’ve got something different or related. I’m not sure. But yesterday I had a match on what I think was a American server. Because my ping was slightly higher than normal. I have a ping of 32 when I’m playing on a European servers. But on the American server (it was laggy and jumpy and all that) I got these different pings:

Lot of micro slutters even with 250+ FPS … This is not fluid

[/QUOTE] when I was playing UK servers my ping was still only 140 at its worst, and I live in the US Midwest.
The few times I played a Aussie server my ping was only an average of 250.
Your ping looks like a network anomaly. The match making does have an option for US, or EU servers, not sure if it would override that and send you to my side of the pond.

What does your unitgraph look like? (Console > /unitgraph)

(BomBaKlaK) #12

I will chek this just to know, but I got a really good connection (down : 300 Mb/s - Up : 50 Mb/s) So I don’t think my connection is the problem.

(Wezelkrozum) #13

The unitgraph contains your overall frame time as well as the game thread, rendering thread, and GPU times. It has nothing to do with your connection. It’s useful to see the impact of effects and animations. You can see that even a weapon switch has impact on your fps and how huge of an impact an airstrike has. But also how frequent a stutter happends en on which ms or what action.

Yeah I understand that, but sometimes it feel like bad connection. I forget to test it and I can’t do it now I will test this during the next WE.
I got a pretty good set up for my work, 32 Go Ram / GTX 980 OC + GTX 780 OC (no SLI just for video output, sometimes I use 12 beamers in real time for huge vidéo mapping I need this at home to test first on my computer) / and a solid i7 so that’s feel weird, good machine and good connection, and this slutter feeling is still there.
