Known Issues/Work Arounds

There are a few known issues/bugs floating around at this point. Below is a list of tips for troubleshooting the most common ones:

If you use the Objective or Stopwatch Casual button and receive an error, it’s most likely due to the server being full. You can try again whenever this happens and it will most likely work on another try!

Crashing to Desktop When Loading into a Map
The work around for this is to delete this config file:
[My Documents]\My Games\UnrealEngine3\ShooterGame\Config\ShooterEngine.ini

Party Matchmaking Auto-Disband:
Currently when a party has finished a match it will be disbanded and will need to be reformed to queue for another match. Unfortunately there is no work around for this at the moment but just know we are aware and looking into it.

Authentication Failure: Authentication Failures may occur if you’re having trouble validating SSL certificates. If this occurs, look into your firewall or security software settings for anything preventing SSL certificate validations.

Performance: If you are encountering poor frame rate or bad performance, you might improve the issue if you lower your video settings and minimize video effects in the options.

Game Won’t Launch: If the game fails to launch after clicking Play, you might need to verify your game files or re-download the game. If you still encounter the issue, check your firewall or security software settings for anything preventing SSL certificate validations.

Joystick/Controller Issues: Controllers are not supported in Dirty Bomb, but Unreal Engine has basic controller support that was left in during testing, and this will be removed shortly. To avoid issues, you should not play Dirty Bomb with a joystick or controller.

Two “bugs” I noticed. The first was the “drill sergeant” looping audio once I was forced to switch to Aura. The second thing I noticed was a SIGNIFICANT framerate drop when people use their microphone/when the match announcer spams demands at us (data node is rapidly and repeatedly picked up and dropped). I am not sure if this is widespread or just ol’ Betsy telling me it is time to put her down (it’s not an ancient computer but she sure isn’t top of the line)

Is it only for me that matchmaking region is ticked for EU by default, and keeps reverting back to EU after every game?

A few things for me. First, in game I try to change settings but there is no button to save changes. My game resolution is below 800x600 For performance reasons. Second, it tells me to right click to respawn but it doesn’t respawn lol. I have to wait till I’m gibbed,revived or I quit the match entirely. Last, is when I go small screen in it turns the game screen black. The game is still running because I can hear the game music and if I move the mouse around it sounds like I am selecting things onscreen. I can as well open up the consol using ~ key and type in there. If anyone has answerers they are much appreciated. Thanks

Also, my game is stuck in windowed mode as a black screen… When I start the game I see the spinning dirty bomb logo but after that nothing.even if I hit alt+enter. I have tried restarting my computer didn’t work. So I’m wondering if there are commands I can put or edit in the config.

hey um when i try to play online, with full internet, it says that an enexpected error happened. Is this because it wasent in a testing period or is it a glitch? Help!

how do i verify my game?

preferably on steam.

yep,
Load Steam.
From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache… button.
Steam will verify the game’s files - this process may take several minutes.

UPDATE: We’ve seen 3 or 4 reports of players crashing to desktop immediately on loading into any map other than tutorial.

The work around for this is to delete this config file:

[My Documents]\My Games\UnrealEngine3\ShooterGame\Config\ShooterEngine.ini

i mean that still my game crash when i loading map
and the same file has been create every time i open the game so this is not help

can someone help i have the game on steam but when i try to start it the anti cheat pops up do it’s loading then close but the game does not start
when i verify the files steam says that i miss one file (553 kb) download it then i try to start it again and nothing then verify again(the file is missing) and the same thing over and over and over again (the game folder is in exclusions in anti virus)

This one’s hilarious, it takes me 5 tries to give up and do it through server browser instead.
Could you please make Server Browser remember its last settings though?
It would make things a lot easier.

Hello,
i want to play since 26. March, but the game wont start. I tried everything, like reinstall, verify inegrity, turn of the firewall but the game dont even launch in steam. There is just a pop up preparing thegame and then nothing happens. Anybody know what i can do to solve this problem?? Would be very nice :blush: :smile:

Unfortunatly i have the Crash to desktop to. Deleted the file, but didn’t work. Game just randomly quits and the “Dirty Bomb stop working” windows message.

Only got to play 1 stopwach match before this happen :s

Edit: Went to logs to see if it could shine any loght on it, found this on end of “Launch”

Edit2: Deleted file, and i can now join the game. Yay?? Not really, everything except players are pitch black. i’ll try and post a screenshot. I can join the game, but its like Alone in the Dark v.trustory
Seems game doens’t auto “recook” the missing file…
