Knife decals don't respect surface bounds or moving geometry

(twincannon) #1

When hitting the environment with a knife, the decal it leaves don’t respect the bounds of the surface it’s hitting, or if the surface is moving.

– Knife decals on a surface that extends out into the air instead of either curving around the surface, or not rendering

Repro steps:

[ol]
[li]Load any map
[/li][li]Hit the edge of a wall or object with the knife
[/li][li]The decals should be half detached from the surface
[/li][/ol]

– Knife decal on a moving EV that is floating in the air after the EV has moved away (to the left of the crosshair)

Repro steps:

[ol]
[li]Load a map with an EV
[/li][li]Join Attackers
[/li][li]Start the game
[/li][li]Progress to the objective with the EV
[/li][li]Hit the EV with a knife and then start moving it
[/li][li]The knife’s decal should float in the air as the EV moves away from where you struck it
[/li][/ol]

I noticed this as well, but its common to a lot of games tbh :frowning:

On a similar note, if you shoot glass you see the bullet hole on both sides - not sure if this is intentional but it looks pretty cool :).
