KIRA: using ammo station as cover?

so one time when i played rhino i noticed that i could fit my face just between the ammo station struts (sp?), i mean the beams at its top forming something like a roof/tip.

i thought it was a great way of reducing incoming damage while still having full view with my minigun for myself.

now i dont own kira and i dont want to buy her for 50k and maybe not play her after all.
i want a dreiss char but i assume shes a bit too weak on 90hp.

so my question, has anyone tried this? does the ammo station fit her body well? obviously while crouching.
is it hard for your enemies to hit you because only your head is exposed?
can you kill people off in time before your station gets shot to bits?
how long is the ammo station cooldown?

in case this is a somewhat valid tactic i may just get her instead of arty to have some dreiss fun because her lazer is heaps better than artys ability.

Sure it works. It’s not like you’re fully protected, though, and Kira is so squishy to begin with that you really don’t want to be stuck standing still.

I also like to use put it down in doorways, so I get some warning if someone’s coming through. It won’t block them for long, but most people will shoot it as soon as they see it, giving away their presence, and allowing you the time you need to GTFO and ambush them.
