You liking the Stark on Kira? Played a few games with them but really don’t like it compared to the dreiss.

ahha… i feel you as a kira player. the trade to cobalt is even more scary hahah. especially since people usually want either the dreiss or the br16, giving you roughly 1/3 chance of being happy

When i rolled my cobalt kira, I accepted that I would probably get the stark, and convinced myself i would still be happy when that happened. and it worked, the gods rewarded me with a dreiss loadout :slight_smile:

I’d give away my two cobalt kiras for ONE gold loadout with the Stark AR. I_hate_the Dreiss and the BR-16 so much.

out of curiosity what do u like about the stark so much? i want to like it, but find the scope incredibly distractingly huge, and i definately feel the one less burst vs the br16 and needing to reload more. what advantages does it have / why do you like it so much?

Well, I play Kira as a support. I tend to stick to medium or long range, and for that purpose I find the scope and burst-fire mode of the Stark to be the best suited. Also for the times I need to go CQC just aim for the head and it does the job just as well as the BR-16.

I have played Battlefield consistently since BF2 so I am quite used to aiming down the sights in order to line up my shots. For me the scope on the stark is a huge help.

Ammo is not really an issue for me, one less burst is not important in this regard. The only bullets that kill are the ones that hit the intended target, right?

I realize this is all subjective, we all have our preferences.

so my cobalt kira is the right skin. i do like the shiny chromy spacey gun skins, but feel like the outfit is very understated for a cobalt. i wish i could buy/trade for your br16 one

so i rolled a cobalt kira last night and got the stark lol >.<. tho i was hoping for the br-16 so its similar at least. and before you get all jelly, its the chopper one, which is probably the worst of the 3? i have found a few times where scoping can be useful playing around with it, and you get used to the scope. although no lie i needed 1 more burst to stop an emp deliverer after taking out the 2 people protecting him on chapel last night, and got a click lol. switched to pistol and started to fire but by then he delivered and match over.

i do like it more than it hought i would tho

I tried all weapons for Kira and sure it’s all about taste and all but for some reason i prefer the Stark over the other weapons, the scope can be useful sometimes but i find the Stark fairly accurate, in close range i use it as a shotgun.
Granted, it’s nowhere near as easy as the automatic weapons in this game (which could use a nerf in spread tbh)

so, i like burst rifles for the same reason. essentially, they can be used as a mid - close range shotgun. at mid range you can nail all 3 bullets in the head pretty easily, ending fights in 1-3 accurate squeezes.

which is why ive preferred the br-16… if im going to be at mid-close range, i wont be ADSing, and the 1 extra burst is important in finishing fights at times.

that said, ive been playing with the stark a bunch more and its growing on me. i feel like it falls somewhere between the br-16 (basically no need to ever ADS), and the dreiss (where ADSing is required to manage the spread under heavy firerates). on occassion zooming in the sight and taking out a distant target works well on the stark.

that said, I’ve heard anecdotally that the stark has a longer range than the br16. i definately noticed i seemed to be taking out long range targets with it better but it may be just confirmation bias. can anyone speak on the range differences between the 2?

So, as an aside, how do people feel about the different kira stark loadouts? the one not pictured in the OP is the S41 (m9 + combat knife) with big ears, chopper, and quick draw.

the s81 looks mighty attractive with the mechanic trait to help with objectives, and drilled to help with the constant reloading of the stark. anyone have other thoughts?

Feel like the only one that needs considering is the S72 for the bonus AoE. Other ones not that amazing.

interesting, does the 10% bonus make a difference? i guess i dont notice cause im so surgical with that bitch. to me the drilled/mechanic seemed better hands down.

I started burst rifles on Skyhammer and i thought “wth is this” (in contrast to fully automatic stock rifle) but eventually got used to it. I still think that it’s worse in CQB. However the advantage of high damage per bullet and fact that you are delivering 1-3 to target on reasonably long distance outweights this. Just get used to being crippled inside (which you are support anyway for most part) but shines outside.

Now with Kira i have D41 (Dreiss, M9, Mechanic, Extra Supplies and Big Ears) which i personally like the most. Dreiss is one step further to burst rifles when you are on single bullet rifle. I had hard times getting used to it at first but eventually i like it even more.
All this is very subjective tho. All around i think burst rifles are better than Dreiss but D41 loadout is best Kira loadout imo so i stick with it. Still getting pretty awesome gun with when used to it.

I hear this… im constantly going back and fourth between the dreiss and burst rifles, I love them both. I think after a lot of playing, I think i prefer the dreiss on arty and the burst rifles on kira. the reason is with the higher HP, i find arty has the time to get off the 5-6 shots with the dreiss to end most engagements… with kira and the low HP, i value ending fights sooner with the bursts
