Kira Changes Opinions

So I’m a Kira main in DB and lemme just say I dint why did splash damage nerf Kira. She was fine before. Pointing a laser at a wall now puts it a foot away?! This was mostly to fix getting killed through a wall, but this is like putting a bandage on a tumor. A cheap fix. Then you decrease her movement speed by 2%? Why? Might as well give her 100HP to survive a sticky then. The decrease may be no change to most players but I feel she’s more sluggish than before. And the weapon changes. The BR I’m happy with I can now aim lower and the recoil will get a headshot. The Stark nerf? Ouch. It’s so inconsistent I’ve given up on it. Forces me to use the terrible scope at range now, and it’s not as reliable in CQC. The dreiss keeps getting buffs, but I can never seem to be good at range with it. That’s all

Kira seems virtually unchanged to me. The Stark still performs at meme-like levels (I drop people extremely quickly), but laser change was indeed very clunky to say the least. I can still get 3-4 man kills but it takes a bit of precision to make sure it goes where you want to and in the path that you wish.

My main thought about the wall change was that now the lazer won’t clip onto the wall when called in.
Also, it sounds like a bugfix to me since I am very certain the lazer killed through some thin walls.
I play Stark Stoker and I don’t feel it’s worse at all.

You don’t survive a sticky with 100hp if you get sticked.

Buff her to 100HP to make up for the speed loss or riot.

And undo the laser change from this patch, it’s actually made even worse now after this patch. In fact, every laser nerf has been unwarranted and should be reverted, idk why SD has a hard-on for nerfing Kira at every opportunity with no clear explanation

Yup.
The laser is really slow now.
I just played a match where I couldn’t even catch a Fragger with it. :’(

The biggest issue with the laser is retargeting on surfaces which basically makes it unusable on Trainyard’s first objective because there are tracks everywhere. I would love to see the speed limit removed though.

Kira’s speed nerf was a bit disappointing. 100 HP is kind of beyond her hitbox though. I wouldn’t mind it, but it seems kind of high all things considered.

two weeks so ago I got killed inside the train car in trainyard…I know before I died I saw the laser clip through the metal and boom.

I don’t play Kira personally, but I do play Stoker with the Stark, and doesn’t seem much different to me, gun wise.

Disclaimer: Kira main.
But I just don’t see the justifications for the changes.
Its rare enough that I see another Kira in a sever (I’d like to see some of the “effectiveness” stats for her as she wasn’t on the presented chart") and yet we get a move speed nerf, without a hp buff while Vassili got a HP buff with out a movespeed nerf, I’d just like to see the justification for it.

I also find it odd that while they were tweaking the laser they didn’t address how finicky it is to call it in on a surface with obstacles, a prime example being the train tracks, or that the laser will still get stuck crossing some rooftops and then cease to respond to any commands.

Just feels odd that Kira keeps getting these little bits chopped off :confused:

I’d rather give her machine pistols as secondary to compensate her speed nerf and give an advantage over Arty, who currently has exactly same weapons and similiar abilities.

And to be fair, they’d be far more interesting in comparison overall if she had machine pistols.

i always imagined that the 2% decrease was a fix because she used to be 2% too fast for her hitbox/healthpool, just as redeyes hitbox size has been increased by 2.5% to match his health in that same patch, as well as Vassili receiving the additional 10hp to fit the 420 movement speed he shares with Fletcher.

My only real issue is that the laser doesn’t hug walls when pointed at the wall, but you can still target the floor and get the same result. It’s not consistent, and it’s a band-aid fix for the wall clipping that just makes the laser even more annoying to use.

Answer: machine pistols.
Vassili’s secondaries are completely destroyed in this update. He can now only defend himself through a very clunky sniper rifle.

Kira’s lazer is still really good. The distance was also changed because now it can’t destroy some secondary objectives in 2 seconds like the one on trainyard. The stark lost all horizontal recoil from what I can see but gained vertical recoil. I still think the guns decent. What do you mean consistent? It shoots the same way every time. Its a burst rifle. By consistent do you mean a gun with no recoil?
