[Kira, Arty] Indoor usage?

Well, A good reason to use Arty is the super low cooldown. Also, Health stations are really vulnerable to explosive fire support (Artillery, Air Strike) so even if they aren’t in the range to deal any damage to players, health stations will be destroyed. Consider Bridge last stage. As an Attacker, Stoker is the last fire support I want. Skyhammer can force them out of the entire back row. Arty can push them from cover every 10ish seconds. Kira can move her laser all over to force them out completely, while stoker could block off an area for 10 seconds that can be stopped by explosives or long jumped over.

Okay, people disagree with my idea for making Stoker not give ammo indoors, or giving Kira/Arty cooldown reduction abilities (to replace or to go with) their ammo support skills.

I just want to know why. The fire support classes could have a feature where they can’t cool down each others’ skills, so it wouldn’t be BS Arty or Skyhammer spam on objectives.

Or, there could be nerfs to the current explosives-oriented skills.

Looks like we play on totally different Bridges. On my version attackers should sturm building to take carriables. Building, with roof and such. Where Arty and Kira can’t do anything with their abilities to enforce defense to back up, and where Stoker is really shine, and Skyham at least can scare them every 15 seconds.

Because it makes absolutely no sense to nerf the class’ defining ability (which is giving ammo) based on location. Each fire support needs to be able to give ammo regardless if they are inside or outside. Arty doesn’t even need a cool down reduction ability with how quickly his artillery recharges.

Have Arty shoot a dart that marks the area for the airstrike, this dart is also essentially a sticky explosive you can fire every 20 seconds at an enemy.

For Kira, not a freaking clue.

And honestly this topic brings up a good point about Stoker…what if he was an Assault merc instead??? And we got Javelin to replace him.

People would complain about arty’s marker-accuracy if you do that: we’re still getting people complaining about sparks’ range and accuracy. - regardless of damage, there would be hate.

I think just using the target painter as a way of tagging enemies would be a fun mechanic, and not ‘OP’

Just get aim (or a lock on) onto an enemy and they will get tagged on your teams HUD, much like the Heartbeat sensor. but singles out a certain target that can be tracked no matter how far they travel for like 10 or so seconds?

What if Kira could call the Orbital Laser down onto herself, steering it to where she’s pointing? She’d have to be outdoors, but the target doesn’t have to be. Hell, two Kiras working together could bend it around corners.

Pretty sure spotting should remain a recon-only thing… Kira’s laser is immensely powerful in that while outdoors, it has the largest aoe of any other airstrike-like ability (given the range it can travel. - The fact that stoker can be used indoors makes him much more viable, however. They could add a ‘slow’ mechanic to kira’s targeter when used indoors, but that would be impossible for arty due to the nature of his cooldown. (Also, no bending lasers please. That’d be broken as hell. @Samniss_Arandeen )

The unique thing about the laser-markers is the fact that there’s no falloff or travel time on them. It would be interesting to see if the devs could come up with an ability which doesn’t require tweaking of the marking process for both of these characters. Arty and Kira’s markers can be very powerful on maps like chapel. (You can mark off the delivery building at the last point from spawn, then direct the laser/airstrike to clean right where most teams turtle. ) This versatility is extremely fun and allows for creative placement. I would hate to see the marking system changed at the cost of an indoor ability.

A horizontal laser beam like RAIL GUN, 1KO every 40 secs if you have good aim :smiley:

That’s not the railgun, that’s instagib! Rail only does 80 damage, and you spawn with 125.

Devs did say that they were planning to give arty and kira indoors ability to make them as usefull as skyhammer in all maps. Dont know what happend to those plans.

Personaly i would like if artys designator would double as XM25 styled grenade launcher. lower damage than other explosives (around 60 damage) but can shoot 2 of them with 75% cooldown reduction and they explode on contact with everything.

Kiras laser desighnators laser could also blind people for short period of time when aimed at their face. Or some spare explosives with low damage.

Hmmm,… if she could ‘paint’ Thunder’s flashbang effect on an area (smaller than that of Thunder’s stun grenades), that’d be interesting. It’d be a strong ability for sure, but balanced out by her being forced to keep painting the area, and while doing so not being able to do any damage herself whatsoever.
