Kira and the laser marker

Isn’t there a better way to call in the laser besides standing out where everyone can see you for an extended period of time? Calling in the orbital and I get my head blown off. Any tips?

Arty has the same problem. Only tip I can offer is that by bringing out the designator tool instead of using the quick key gives you more control.

Cast it behind cover then move it where you need it. It can travel over buildings and such.

Killed myself doing that a few times where it clipped a piece of my cover i was hiding behind.

Cast it a bit farther away, then. Not much I can do to help, I’m not a Kira player.

The trick with Kira aswell as Arty is to use the ability while not standing directly in the line of fire.
Keep in mind that you have unlimited range and that the abilities have unlimited height. Therefore look out for walls and structures above your target.
Kira has the advantage of being able to move the laser, so you can target a point left, right, infront or behind your target and then moving it by targeting in the opposite direction.

Map knowledge is propably the most important thing with both abilites always keep an eye out for recognizable structures and see from what positions you can target them.

Another option is to use flanking routes and aim from the side or behind the enemies (works great with Kiras speed).

just cast it on the ground in front of you and then aim at a wall or something behind where you want it to go. You don’t have to aim it at the ground all the time.
