Finally voted (had to think about it for awhile) and I think it would make a cool Universal Ability.
Considering that the poll is currently at 100% yes I would surmise that the majority of players disagree with your assessment.

EDIT: Oh, and since Bethesda is involved maybe SD could add a Fallout 3 style railway rifle? Pins enemies to the wall for a short duration (allowing them to fire but preventing them from moving).
I cant see any bad side to it whatsoever aslong as its balanced all it will do is add veriation of gameplay (that no1 is using atm) and choice in the game. aswell as it really suiting Brinks image and gameplay, Win Win situation

Personally i’ve never liked when they put things in the trailers that are possible in game, but that they just didn’t add. Things like that Medium type in the green shirt doing the wall flip to evade a grenade? Dual wielding would be one of those things. Maybe allowing different guns based on body size to be dual wielded as well. but i think if you did that it should get rid of the knife and maybe do reduced melee damage to keep it even. God knows i’d love Dual Rithcie Revolvers though.

I got killed by the shutting bridge door on the reactor level and the instantly appearing repaired gates on shipyard.

I got nearly stuck in those gates but not quite killed.
I think I’ve mentioned my close call with that before. Wow, guess I’m lucky? Seems I’ve had plenty of close calls like that, but I end up barely escaping. Well, probably only cause I saw them just in time, so yeah, got lucky.
I tihnk its quite glitchy, Ive been killed a good few times letting the bot ‘push’ me allong.
Well it doesn’t even kill me, it just switches me back to the spawn point straight away.

Now that I’ve had happen. I was using it as cover against some Sec I believe. I think there were about three, and I was all alone(it was a bot match). I was forced to move around to the front and took out two of the bots, I was working on the third and then…BAM! Looks like the bot just ran me over. No seriously, I got to watch it run over my body.
Edit: Actually, it wasn’t a bot match, I believe it was the escort challenge, two star I think. That made it all the worse.
I’ve also had ones where I was dead, and I was looking straight into the bots treads. I gotta admit, I imagined my character’s head getting squished.
I wonder if they’ve got any suprizes for us in the big update that comes with the DLC. Just dreaming but it would be great if there were something like dual pistol’s.
Probably just be what they listed though lol. bayonets, weapon shield, and a pyro mine. meh doesnt add much veriaty to the game.
I too was dissapointed after seeing the trailer that kimbo pistol’s werent in the game. I dont no another trailer where it showed so deliberately an actual weapon as a game mechanic in the trailer thats not in the game, cinematic or not, theres no reason to do that… none.
Sure make the graphics and player animation amazing, make it look great by doing flips and jumping from buildings to see what it could be like and what the games is about, as its a cinematic . But dont put in and make a big deal out of weapon’s that arent in the actual game…just wrong.
Kimbo pistol would be good, they cant possibly do any bad aslong as balanced, anyone voting no I would think were Splash Damage themselves 
You know, why don’t they make dual pistols a separate weapons category and just make it the same class as smgs and light rifles. That way to dual wield, you gotta use it as a primary weapon (If light).
I mean nothing can be as broken as the carb 9 anyways.

That would be a good idea, and kind of what i thought but didnt really think.
Dual pistols should give you an advantage close range over anything else, but be usless long medium to long range. And having a primary weapon aswell would be unfair, so yes having them as yor primary would be very good and adding more gameplay veriet to the game.
Ovcourse it could also just be a secondary weapon but evened out so the same as everything else so it wouldn’t be overpowering, but that sounds better

Interesting point, I think that’s a really good idea actually. I haven’t really thought of it as anything other than secondary because that’s what pistols are, but making them primary(for lights) is something I could see. I only have one problem with it, and that is, wouldn’t that mean the light basically have three pistols? Well, actually that would be kind of cool, using your duals and then your secondary pistol to take out other guys with SMG’s and Heavy weapons. Especially with the new patch, which is apparently making the Heavies better, it’s going to feel even cooler taking them down like that.

There is really nothing bad atall that can come of it, if done correctly all it will do is bring more veriety and choice to the game
If this thread was about weapon shields for example, and we didnt know getting them, ppl would be like wtf that would be terrible, much more so than this, this can only be good.
There could be other ways to make the heavy more powerful, but obviously the devs are doing them right with the weapon shields, the same way they could do kimbo pistols right, but kimbo pistols wouldnt be for balancing but for more content choice, veriety and veriety of gameplay.
And imagine, since the medium and the heavy built can carry most of the primaries as a secondary, given the hierarchy of the dual-wielded(below smgs, above pistols) in weapon category,they could have two dual pistols…FOUR! Think of all those holsters!
