Kicked Back to Lobby at Game Start

I’ve seen a number of complaints about the fact that the ready-up counter doesn’t take into account the players that have not spawned yet, so sometimes the match can be started with just a couple of people readying-up. Well a side effect of these premature starts I seem to be experiencing more often lately is that if your PC is slower at loading the map and you’re not ready to go before the pre-game briefing is completed and the game actually starts, you get kicked back to the lobby and have to wait another 15 sec to be able to join

I’ve read the reason behind that synchronization delay, but in this specific case that was already done with everyone in the lobby! I understand that the server can’t wait for everyone that was in the lobby at the start to be ready, just in case someone gets really hung up. But if you’re delayed for whatever reason you should not be treated like someone who just joined the server after the game started.

I’ve had this happen a lot too, its a bit annoying.

I’m more bothered that after having to spend 5 minutes loading a map, I’m still forced to wait for a pointless lobby countdown. Can’t I be in the lobby while I wait for the map to load?

If you mean when you join a game in progress, someone from SD already explained that they use that delay after you lock-in your squad to allow the other players to pre-load the model data for your mercs. Keep in mind that they are already playing, so the SD folks are trying to make this seamless for them, but they said it’s likely to get optimized a bit and the delay reduced at some point.
