You can’t implement the system you want without taking off the old one, just so you know.
Keybinds, match times
Yes you can, setting a voice line to a specific key has no baring on whether the V-say system is still in place. As I said, it was in previous titles.
You can’t have 2 systems at the same time, and SD won’t invest time and money to implement a newer system, while having a perfect one.
It’s an add-on, its not an entirely new system at all. Bind x vsay “needmedic”, just needs coded to allow binds, there is no building of a new system at all. You’ve still not explained why you’re entirely against it since there’s clear benefits and no downsides that I can see
Yeah, exactly as @DarkangelUK said . We are not trying to remove the old one. Just add in another system as an option. I think it would be really handy and a good alternative. Not everyone will like it but they can stick to the old V-5-4 system if they like and the rest of us can bind our keys for our hellos and needs for healing.
I am too interested why are you so against this, haha. @Meetrock
The syst5is there, it’s just that it isn’t built into the interface, you have to do it in the console or through an autoexec.cfg file.
Me? I have a nostromo n52 that holds all of my keybinds in macros. Easy peasy.
I don’t know what kind of mice do you have, but I really never though about this sugestion in general, since I own a Logitech and I have been able to set up a macro to call for a medic and another one for ammo, because that’s usually what I need the most during matches and of course, having those commands binded to one key feels so much better and it’s a lot easier.
Have you ever tried with the console? I don’t know if it’s possible tho. But since you can bind the long jump buttons to one key, maybe you can do the same with voice commands?
@ThePigVomit & @AcidKronos I do have macro capabilities on my keyboard but not on my mouse. I gotta look into that.
As an update to all this, I just wanted to say I did try out the macros. I have extra G-keys, aka macros, in my keyboard. I went to an offline map, recorded the macros and they worked fine! Definitely 100% more handier than pressing punch of keys during gameplay. I mean, you can press the buttons still, but I find this way muuuuch faster.
I would still hope for a quicker way since not all of us macros. A config file or an option straight from the settings to bind keys or anything like that would be appreciated. I can’t speak for all though, but what I’ve seen from the comments here at least, I am not the only one who wishes for different options!
Have a great day, y’all and a big thank you to everyone who shared their views on all of this
