Saw the “S for Stroker” thingy, so I thought I’d reply to it with a fan art of my favorite merc.
Still salty about the Kira nerfs but she will stay my main ^^

Did a sparks awhile ago for inktober that I posted on Steam: Inktober Sparks
It looks very nice! I’ve always appreciated pen art but never really tried to do it myself, preferring straight pencil with slight outlining and maybe a few patches of paint here and there for whites and of course digital art.
Would you like criticism?
What’s up with the ceiling fan in the top corner? 
Any chances for a lewd R for Rhino?

Back about 2-3 years ago I would only draw with pencil, but I like the ink finish. I still start off with a pencil draft then I go over it with ink- because I’m not a real man ;;

Ceiling fan?! nooo I can’t unsee now. Its her satellite, couldn’t see enough details with her splashes so I just kinda made bits and pieces up.

Oh I don’t even know anyone brave enough to go in pen first. I’ve done enough contour work to know I never want to try straight pen. :lol:

Well, I love the conservative shading though the lightness on the details inside the K is probably a bit too extreme. The satellite indeed does look like a ceiling fan (space stuff usually has more angles and less bulging on edges), but I think the absurdly massive explosion is perhaps worse (if you can even see it) scale wise.
Kira’s jawline is also much more significant than what you’ve drawn, jutting forward more (style choice yes, but detracts from the appearance IMO). Plus, the lower lip is much less noticeable and the eyes are a bit less angled with a more noticeable slope away from the tear glands.
Your hands also…well…they don’t make much sense. Kind of scary to look at actually. 
The rifle’s stock is extended too far from the hand guard, AR-15 upper receivers end just above the hand guard and the stock isn’t much farther than that. The holo sight also is really far forward.
Other than that it’s fairly good. 
Hey bOOMBZA, a buddy of mine saw that picture of your Kira and added color in since he knows I absolutely love her. I use it as my background but if you ever wanna see it let me know and I can show you. He did add a beam within the “K” but he isn’t posting it anywhere or claiming it as his own work, just added color for me.

Thanks for that, some helpful heads up.
I agree with most of them and a lot is something I already knew was wrong. Its hard to get it perfectly right when I don’t have a crtl+z ;_;
As for the lack of tone, this is actually one of the step in my full process. So technically its not even a finished pieced, but in terms of inking it is. which is why I posted it. Shading takes a lot of time but its by far the most rewarding, I get to set the dark tones as well as bring out the highlights more ^^

Yo I’d love to see it, and your friend is fine to post it anywhere he pleases, though just credit me and link back to here.
He goes by Akuta in game, but he knows of my favoritism of Kira. He did the coloring in PS but he’s been using PS for several years now.
P.S. He added Kira’s name to her name tape and added the beam
