So, as of 30 minutes before writing this, a crafting week went live, including reduced crafting costs, increased recycling earnings, and most notably, reduced crafting kit costs. That’s awesome… isn’t it? Perhaps not.
I’m not one to stir up drama, but I am quite disappointed with Splash Damage’s timing with this event. With the release of Ranked Season 3 came a purchasable Obsidian Aura card worth 200,000 credits, or alternatively, $9.99 USD. For some players (myself included), 200,000 credits takes a lot of time to gather up, far longer than Ranked Season 3 is set to last, meaning I myself am basically locked into having to pay the $9.99 if I wish to have the card.
For those who are perhaps near the 200,000 credit mark, and find it achievable within the time frame, they will likely save up until they can purchase the card.

Wait, whats this? AN RKO OUT OF NOWHERE!
Much like an RKO, the crafting event also appeared “out of nowhere”. This event is something that we don’t see very often, and is an amazing opportunity to try and craft those cobalts you’ve always wanted. The only problem is, some of us just spent all of our credits on the Aura card, and if not, we’re either still in the process of saving for the Aura card, spending them on Equipment Cases, or simply crafting Cobalts (or other rarities) normally.
I feel as if this event is a shady practice, a way to somewhat force players into paying real-world money to get in on the action while they still can, hence why I have a particular issue with Crafting Kits seeing a reduction in costs. To me, it seems unfair to spring this on your players without any time to prepare.
I hope you can see where I am coming from with this, as you’ve left us in an awkward position.
