Jumping animation

(Ecano) #1

There is a thing that I would try to remove or reduce, the way in which all the the screen is moving while jumping. Don’t like it

Why don’t you like it? How would you change it?

(Ecano) #3

I mean in first person view while jumping. I would leave it static.

I had no idea what you were talking about until I went in game and really looked for it. But, yes I agree, there is a slight perspective acceleration upwards when you jump, as if the camera is supposed to simulate squatting then jumping. And, then when you land there is quite the camera shake.

Does anyone appreciate this realism? There are quite a few of us that agree we aren’t looking for the realism in movement. In games where I can turn off that “bob” I do that right away. I think having it in is definitely a good touch for some (especially newer players or those looking to be a little more “immersed” into the game). However, for the rest of us, will we be able to turn this off in Dirty Bomb? A config option/setting would also be acceptable.
A config option/setting would also be acceptable.
word, i can imagine some people would find such details nice, some more customizable settings are always appreciated for everybodys best game experience

Hmm…I don’t like screen shake, how would I change it? ---- Get rid of it? (ie. Remove or reduce it like already stated) Why Don’t I like it, Uhh I don’t like my screen shaking…

Same reason I do not like view-bob while running - don’t want to feel like I’m playing a bobble head character.

+1 vote for removing the bobup/bobdown when landing from a jump.

Thanks for the explanation

There’s a lot of work going into these little details at the moment as they’re likely to appeal to players who like a more cinematic experience but we’re also strongly aware of how distracting these little details can be so we’ll probably start taking a look at making more toggleable options for things like non-ability affecting camera shakes and secondary motion in the hands and weapons to give a more stripped back feel.

I like to call it a clean and crisp arcade shooter experience lol.
