Jump shooting?

(DeadPixels) #1

As the title says. Some players like to shoot like that. Since the guns don’t lose much accuracy while jumping, so they use it as advantage and jump on the same place over and over again making them hard to hit. I am not talking about the players that jump of the walls and shoot, i have no problems with that, actually think that’s cool. Just about the players who jump on the ground left and right + shoot. Why can a you jump like that?

(PurpleHippo) #2

Why not? Its screws more with them than it does with the one they’re shooting at so I don’t see the problem.

(Yoma) #3

Because unlike us, normal people’s legs havent lost their jumpfunction because of not using them for anything beside covering the distance to the frigde or the toilet. (If at all…)

Idk why, but i am having a hard time killing players like that :s

It’s very difficult. You have to be able to track very well and quickly, which takes time and practice. Proxy, Aura, and Fletcher are notorious for abusing the shit out of bunny-hopping. A lot of it has to do with shotguns being as fucking stupid as they are.

Just practice tracking. When they start jumping, anticipate that they will jump nonstop. I snipe a lot so maybe it’s easier, because a jumping target is an easy one, because you can anticipate where they head is going to be when they hit the ground again.

If you’re using an SMG and 1v1ing them, get in the habit of keeping on their head, and aiming up when they jump up, so on and so forth. Practice having your crosshair track their head, and you’ll be able to stay in sync with them as they jump and dink their head more reliably.

Admittedly, it’s still difficult because chances are, they’re spraying you down with shotgun pellets. Shotguns don’t require much skill in aim for you to get hit so, you still might die pretty quick.

you do know if they start jumping you can just run and wait for them at a corner. i do that.
its called “tactical retreat”

Yes. Incredibly, perhaps amazingly, I’m somewhat intelligent.
This person is asking about how to kill bunny hoppers as they’re jumping, not run away from them and wait to kill them.
I was offering advice, I hope that’s alright with you?

Try using low recoil weapons (aka: the m4a1) and (maybe) lower your sensibility/DPS. Also, like @Mercy said, you need to practice your aim and tracking until it becomes a reflex.

Mercy i am having a hard time traacking players like that because they seem to stutter for me most of the time. Idk if it’s my pc that can’t handle their fast jumping or the servers. Could aslo be some peoples internet connection. I am upgrading to a better cpu next week, hope that will fix some problems

buffMonorail that tactic is good if you are defending, But not really if you are attacking

shotguns, a low-skill weapon? HAH! wait till i show you how i try to shotgun a static guy in the back, make it seem a whole lot harder!

in any event, killing a bunnyhopper is actually really easy. for me, i just shotgun them every time they land. imo, b-hopping actually doesnt do much to help. the horizontal movement speed drops to snail speed, and if you can track an unchanging up and down rhythm, you already got it.

distance is also your friend as the increase spread at a distance basically makes b-hopping useless

with the amount of people complaining, though, it might be a good idea to reduce midair accuracy if you dont have sprint momentum on you, make a nicely timed walljump shot rewarding but discourage straight b-hopping

Increase the skill cap! Someone is 5/24/16.

You might want to look at your frames per second (RAM, Graphic Card) and your internet connexion. I wouldn’t be surprised that the issue comes from there. Of course lag can look like that, but on DB being laggy is much more a disadvantage than a perk.
