Please Add Javelin back to the game. I really want a mercenary with a rocket launcher.
Thank you.
Javelin
I believe Javelin wasn’t even in the game. Only the rocket launcher model was created and the idea was brought up.
The question is do we need more explosive spam and instant kill weapons which you can’t dodge? Nah, thanks.
Joke apart, a merc like Javelin would be nice.
Of course, it’ll require balance. But what aspect of a game doesn’t?
I want the rocket launcher having relatively slow, but very deadly missions. Quake-style.
Yes i agree it would need balancing and it does not have to be instant kill and slow rocket speed would be good it would give time to dodge and unlike Naders grenade you only have one or two rockets with a little longer recharge.
As far as I can remember, the javelin stuff hinted at him being a firesupport Merc (arty/kira/Skyhammer/stoker). So the rockets would propably be more powerful than Naders grenades, But with more cooldown, propably also fairly slow traveltime, since damaging EV/secondaries and deployables/defensive positions would be the main job.
I feel like Arty should just get Javelin’s ability
I feel like the Artillery Strike will simply never be good enough vs Kira or Skyhammer’s abilities.
@Watsyurdeal I’d like to see Arty’s strike turned into a long range mortar with a delay based on the range from where you are. More interesting than his current setup imo. That or just give the dude some sort of indoor ability and buff the artillery to be series of strikes in an area.
Seeing as right now Kira is the better killer, and Skyhammer is the better EV destroyer.
I loved the mortar in Enemy Territories, of course as sad as it makes me that style of mortar wouldn’t work in DB very well. Kids these days probably don’t like memorizing firing angles, and it’d be a little bit too slow with DB’s gameplay.
So I guess just clicking on the map or something would work…

That takes me back, mortars were so underrated in ET… seawall battery was great especially if the axis team was good
Yeah definitely not friendly for DB’s fast paced action or relatively closed maps but I would still play the hell out of them if it was in the game!
