I am 100% opposed to Javelin or any character with a Panzer-like weapon getting into DB. We don’t need any more 1 hit kills, panic buttons or random nukes. I don’t want to lose because one or two people sat in spawn and nuked us when the shield came down or we all rushed through one of the only halls that would let us get to a place semi-quickly.
It worked in Wolf and ET because maps were much larger in most areas. I still didn’t like them but I could accept them. Dirty Bomb map sizes simply do not work with a rocket launcher character outside of maybe Dome.
Due to these reasons I would definitely not want to see a panzer-like weapon in the game. If I want constant one hit kills that has little to do with aiming I’ll go play OW.
Random thought on the rocket launcher:
Make it a shaped charge projectile.
If it misses, it does absolutely nothing but make the Javelin player feel like a fool.
If it hits, give it a conical AoE that can shred stacked targets. (Probably negate if it hits the EV, just deal a lot of damage to it.)
If the target manages to shoot it, have it either explode with reduced damage or just be entirely negated.
I more or less share the same point of view than @Amerika though I wouldn’t mind if he came out with a few tweaks to make one able to predict his attacks. IMO, the rocket launcher should absolutely have a priming time and some kind of visible laser like Arty’s artillery strike, so a player would be able to notice a RPG attack and try to dodge it.
It could be like Nader Grenade launcher, only shooting forward with no arc.
Kinda like TF2 soldiers weak weapons, though, I don’t think we could juggle enemies. Since we can’t really grenade jump without huge penalties in DB…
Well if Javelin is female I’d like her to have at least one automatic rifle (Timik or M4) since no female merc presently uses an automatic rifle.

I think that just having a plain ole rocket launcher is boring and uninspired I just hope javelin has an interesting mechanic tied to her rocket like it goes into the air and splits down into 3 smaller rockets that shoots downward, or she has a laser pointer that guides the rocket but the travel speed of the rocket is not so fast your unable to react to it.
I think it should have a long arming time. Like Jav has to put a rocket in before shooting it not just pull it out like Nader’s launcher. So it’ll be more like a Fragger that must cook his nades to 2 or longer but a longer cooldown and more powerful explosive.
And I heard Javelin is gonna be a lady? Hoping to see some Nader v Javelin rivalry/sisterhood huehuehue. We’re lacking a strong obvious rivalry in the roster. Could be great content for a good trailer in the future if they go at each other like Zoro and Sanji(One Piece) or Nina and Anna(Tekken) but it turns out they make a great team when they put their rivalry aside for a moment HAHA

it will happen just like naders nades . Nader’s grenade launcher used to be a playable weapon and had a reload animation. The developers later decide to make the grenade launcher an ability and removed the reload animation.
At this point we could all say Thundermight get a new girlfriend, but yea i could picture the ability with 1 or 2 rockets at a slow fire speed and strong damage, cause isn’t that what rockets were supposed ti do? Destroy tanks or in dirtybomb, the Ev.
Maybe they can make an explosive launched javelin for her, with a travel time as sparks has on her revivr, with timed explosion. It can damage the EV with high damage, but hardly damage players as the explosion is timed and they can escape. But it can damage stuff like arty can with his strike. And you can throw it on an enemy like stickies. This may need a cooldown like 30s as it can be use indoor and can be stuck to one-shot people, so it must not be spammable like stickies.
What about an aiming required time like Arty or Kira ? You have to aim a precise point for X seconds so the rocket can be fired. And while you aim, other players could see a big laser ray from Javelin to aimed spot. You so could be able to avoid rocket and know where Javelin is.
I think the rocket could have a slow travel time, which means it is easy to hit at close range, but much harder at long, but to compensate, do massive damage and have a large explosive radius. Kinda like a more long ranged fragger but you are actually able to escape. You could have a cooldown of 30 seconds, and hold two rockets. To balance this of course it could have a laser indicator like in halo,the spartan laser where it is charged up before firing, so it can be better avoided. Javelin would be able to take the EV down with one charged up salvo of all the rockets she has available, if you charge it up for say 1.5 secs longer than one rockets charge time(maybe 0.6 secs).
What if it was a rather slow, but laser guided rocket that takes a bit to activate (like nader’s nades)? that way it takes some time so you can dodge it, and adds some complexity instead of just hitting a button and firing an instakill.
i would like the javelin to have the same mechanic as half life that one you shot the missile will get higher and higher speed overtime and will try to fellow the dot/lazer or the last place the dot/laser was it will give birth to some skill shot i guess
