Jav Guided rocket camera mode? pls

No. That would require less skill
it would be a huge debuff, limiting Javelin’s field of view, preventing her from hiding while exposed during target painting.
disagree, removes my ability to long jump into a group of enemies, shout yeet, then shoot the ground

nothing that locks your feet to the ground is EVER good
guys, you can just hide behind a corner first

Two games come to mind:
Perfect Dark (N64) using the Slayer Rockets in secondary mode to essentially camp in one place but guide rockets through hallways. That made the game not so fun to play.
Battlefield 4 UCAV. The UCAV can be thrown by snipers and guided around. If it runs into people, it 1-hits them, and can also continue flying around.
I just don’t think having an added camera option which would, in essence, leave Javelin standing still near a spawn point somewhere while she guides her rocket, be beneficial to the balance of this game. Still a, “no”, from me.
The guided mode works solely on line-of-sight, so a camera like this would essentially rework the mechanic. I gotta say no to this, and think it’s a pretty poor idea. It was fun in UT with the redeemer, but doesn’t really have a place in DB…
Javelin’s rocket can already feel OP, both from the user’s point of view and the receivers… Allowing her to also be able to fire it from around the corner and be perfectly safe while doing it, AND having an on missile camera to direct the insta-death missile would be totally game breaking.

the thing is if its fragger, i know if hes going back to cover means hes pulling pin. You can just run away.
if its with Javelin you dont know if its dumb fire or homing and if it struck, you get instagibbed.

Considering the missile is very lit up and noticeable, would be moving a lot slower for guidance, and can be shot down… I dunno if game breaking is entirely true.
Still the question remains, though…
why
- DB’s maps aren’t designed like that. Get too high up, nothing has contact areas, invisible walls, etc. This could be dealt with in two ways, 1 would just be limiting the rocket’s right, but that would be terrible for obvious reasons. The other would be to add walls and stuff for the upper part of the map. But that’s a lot of work and wasted processing power just for one rocket.
- the rocket moves a lot faster than that. It would be too hard to control, and anything slower would make you a major target.
- You’d be exposed as shit. If you chose to hide, it would be OP as shit.

Cuz I suck at hooming the missile?
Tried that on chapel and understood that I have no idea how far the rocket actually is to manoeuvre it somewhere
It would be pretty cool, but I like the kind of depth the homing rocket has. Camera Guided just makes things too easy.

It still moves pretty fast. Unless you’re really firing it across the entire map, you generally need to point it in the direction you want it to go immediately. Firing it straight into the air works well too, since it won’t zoom off into a wall right away.
