I've crafted Gold loadout for the first and the last time.

Not worth it. Ever. Unless it’s a drop from a case or you have shit load of credits (with the current earn rate not a chance).

4 silver loadouts, around 10k credits in total (including retarded 4k credits cost to craft a Gold Loadout) to get this ?

What’s the point in crafting tbh if a bronze card is much better ? Gold one does not even look good (gun itself looks like someone took a dump on it)

Like i said in my previous posts - crafting system is a garbage in its current state.

It needs to be communicated better. Gold offers no advantage over Bronze other than cosmetics (loadouts are literally identical).

The only reasons to use trade up ever beyond Bronze are to get a card for a merc of your choosing, or to do something useful with duplicates. Never try to trade up a Bronze that you actually might want to use.

(Eox) #3

There’s no gameplay differences between bronze and gold cards actually. Only the skin changes. A gold and a bronze card can have the same effects.

But yeah… That’s some terrible perks, urgh…

And that’s my point. There is no reason for doing it because the total cost is sky high and you have a high chance of getting garbage - 50% of loadouts are useless. And duplicates ? Chance of getting a silver loadout from a case is so low that there is no point in talking about them.

After playing the game for a couple of years, you’ll probably amass a few. But yeah for now we should at least warn people not to do that.

Totally agree. I think the loadouts should be split between weapons and skins, and the current system is horrible indeed. There is absolutely no reason to trade cards currently except for duplicates or garbage cards, the system should help you improve a card by choosing an attribute at each trade for instance (1 augment, or 1 weapon idk) instead of randomizing at every step…

(RuleofBooKz) #7

bronze is the best it gets in terms of function - beyond that its just cosmetic or the fact u have duplicates and spare credits etc

(Ashog) #8

Wasn’t it clear from the start lol?

(yellowCabbage) #9

I just want the badass founder skin lol

That ship has sailed a long time ago, but I expect there will be more full-reskins available in the future (as opposed to simple re-texturing / re-coloring). We’ve already seen some of those in promo screenshots:

Alternate Bushwhacker

You don’t wanna see the silvercards perks I got for Sawbonez… :’(

I also saw some guy showing some pictures from a DB meeting.
Said that there will be weapon cards.

I personally have a gold loadout for proxy for her sg and a bronze SMG loadout, i love both dearly and enjoy them, i also have an iron vasilli along with a iron fragger that i will probably never trade up as i love the augments and the guns on them. Trading them up to a bronze would most likely give me a bad augment EX throwing knife shivers. there is 0 need to trade higher than iron/bronze unless you just want the cool shiny looks. gold and silver loadouts are not better than bronze unless it fortunately replaces something you disliked in the bronze version.

2 of my 2 silver cards are dropped out of a crate since i dont want to craft my bronze goodies.

(TitaniumTeddyBear) #14

I thought that the point of Silver and Gold was to have a higher percentage of chance of getting ‘better’ or ‘rarer’ combos?

But if that’s not the case then I guess I can stop saving up for a gold card…

:smirk:

On the upside the advantage of there not being anything really better in Silver and Gold is that it signals very strongly that this will NOT be a pay-to-win game.

And that is very good news.

(twenty) #15

It’s still in beta, they might change some stuff.

(lapislazuliPark) #16

just posting this here because i found it buried on page 3. but here is a screenie of a talk from GDC (the only vid i can find is in german and doesn’t actually show anything else of that talk) I’m assuming it might be out there. but yeh lookie here http://snag.gy/xfMwC.jpg

I won two gold card drops for fragger. I agree with the complaint- gold cards crafting is a silly thing to do. And, the color and guns shouldn’t be gold but instead a stand out color/pattern that is unique. You should be allowed to pick from a selection when you get the drop card of super awesome looking skins. O well.

(son!) #18

just craft bronzes, and when you get bronzes you don’t want turn them into silvers. if still you dont get the silvers you want, then turn them into golds. but yes, unless you really want the high tier cosmetic don’t bother with trying to craft gold from the start.

(twenty) #19

A unique look on the mercs would be nice too, and not just the same pattern with a different color.

Yes, this was the picture I was talking about.

(DB Genome editor) #20

Exactly. If Silver and Gold were significantly better, it would start to smell of P2W. But as it is, even some Iron loadouts are as good as their Gold version because that third augment is fairly useless / highly circumstantial.
