sd for ever
its up to us lets do some advertisement
I think that might need to wait until more media is released, and more solid dates for the alpha and beta are given (people are more likely to buy early access when they know roughly when it will be).
Already got the Contributor Pack.
Thought I’d redownload Brink to get a bit of practice in before I’m granted access … was met with a nasty (non)surprise when I loaded the game and browsed the servers. At 10pm UK time today, there were a total of 9 people (worldwide) playing on public servers … I know the game died a thousand deaths, but still
The OP was talking about engaging in viral marketing, not individual contributions to the developers (and it was the OP my respons was targeted to.)
well i have noticed on some german sites that the people say it looks like another cod copy or it would be a shooter which has nothing special.for me it looks like they dont take the time to infirm theirselves about the game .i would say they dont know anythink about the gamemechanics of et or et qw ,but the problem is people like this kill games before they have startet .
hopefully my englisch isnt too bad latenight skill
Well given the setting and basic premise that SD have chosen, people could be forgiven for thinking that it’s another CoD clone …
Judging by the limited gameplay we’ve seen, it’s not even worth comparing it to ET in terms of play style. Looks starkly dissimilar to QW:ET, too. Definitely has the Brink vibe, which differed markedly from both the afore mentioned and CoD. I’m sure people will realise that pretty quickly once they get to play it.
But both ET and ETQW is mentioned in the trailer but Brink left out, so that could point towards that it is more similar to those.
I suspect that has rather more to do with the whiff of failure - even if it was a moderate commercial success - around Brink. Also, as far as I know, SD own the rights to ‘Enemy Territory’ IP, even if they didn’t publish it. Bethesda hold all the rights to Brink IP.
Nope, that restriction (IP) only exists in your head as a figment of your (lack of) imagination
Bethesda/ID Software or Activision owns the “Enemy Territory” trademark though (afaik.)
Already did so
But splashdamage kinda has a bad name because of Brink.
In which case, Splash Damage may have decent relations with Activision (doubt Bethesda / ID own ‘Enemy Territory’). SD just had a fairly ill-willed split from Bethesda, mainly due to Brink …
