Its a funny one isnt it? Never have i seen a game that has had such a mixed reception. (Insert marmite reference here) Looking at metacritic (Which I hate to do) U can see clearly this game has gotten some postive reviews. there is currently 33 positive, 35 mixed and only 4 which are negative. Many of these reviews complaints such as LAG and texture have been addressed. I havent experienced any LAG for a few days now on the PS3. So it would be good for the reviewers to update their reviews since the complaints have been addressed rather quickly which i give praise to SD for doing.
My main complaint with the game is simply lack of content. with just 8 maps, a lacking storyline and 4 challenge rooms which are basicallly tutorials that should have been put at the begining of the game for players, Im left wanting much more.
I want to make it clear I am enjoying BRINK. I’m already on my second character. I played for hours last night with my mates with no LAG at all and had a great time. The game is really enjoyable if you give it enough time. SD have done a fine job and i see a lot of potensial in the game. They look like they will be supporting it and I hope it will be in a similiar fashion to what Valve have done with TF2. The free DLC is most probabaly free because they intended to include it in the full game but the game was pushed out to make up for the costs.
Ok, Im going on a bit here but I just want to make it clear Im enjoying it! When a plan comes together its a great feeling.
I would like to see in the DLC’s to come:
More maps, would be good if there was some neutral maps teams would have to attack and defend.
Stat tracking. Not K/D but just tracking so I know where im doing good and bad
Lobby System.
And the ability to see how many people are currently in a match. Ive only ever been in one match which was 8v8. It was really cool with no LAG. be cool to have a list of matches and then i could pick which one to go into.
