It would be nice if we could favorite/prioritize loadout cards

I’ll start with the problems.

<Spoilered 'cuz rant. Read this if you’re bored or don’t understand the reasons for this.>
The current loadout card system will always end up filling your inventory with lots of loadouts you will never use. The game gives you the option to trade cards for better or new cards to control the quality and quantity of your inventory, but this ultimately leads to turning a massive pile of easily ignored Iron and Lead cards into an awkward handful of Bronze+ cards you still likely won’t use.

I have nothing against having a variety of valuable loadout cards to choose from, but it would be great to have control when deciding what loadouts are important or valuable. When you’re changing your merc’s loadout cards, the game defaults to prefering rarer cards and placing them in the front of the list, when you will sometimes have a preferred loadout card further back because of its lower rarity. No biggie, it’s just a bit inconvenient.

Then there is the problem of keeping track of what cards you like and what cards you can get rid of when you’re actually trading them in. If you use more than three or four mercs or use more than one loadout for each of them, you have to watch what you’re trading so that you don’t accidentally turn a good loadout card into something with weapons or augments you don’t like.
What I’d like to see is a way to “star” or “favorite” or otherwise prioritize loadout cards that I actively use during gameplay. Functionally, this would 1) make finding and selecting a favorited card more convenient by putting it at the front of the loadout selection list, and 2) prevent Auto-Fill from adding your favorite loadout cards to the set of cards you’re trading away. This feature could be added to the loadout view screen, and the option to filter “favorites” could be added to the search UI.

Just a little thing that would make dealing with lots of loadout cards a lot more bearable, and would make managing preferred loadouts for the large number of available mercs far more feasible.

Thank you for hearing me out! ^u^

Is fine as an idea, especially for the fact of not having to choose with cards, just choose those that I like auto fill and if something is in the trade up box means that I dont want it

I’d also like autofill to take my duplicate cards first.

E.g. If I had 4 Redeye leads, and an Arty lead, and a Kira lead, trading up to iron would take the 3 duplicate Redeye loadouts, rather than taking them in alphabetical order (using my Arty, Kira and 1 Redeye card, leaving 2 spare Redeye loadout cards)

True, true. Might not be as important if we could tell the game which cards we don’t want thrown away (trash is trash) but that would definitely be useful if you happen to have duplicates for higher level cards, especially if the ability to trade unused loadout cards between players becomes a thing.

For me it’s been taking duplicates first ._.

I like the “squads” idea. Give us, say 5, squads that we can pre-define. Loadouts, mercs, etc.

This would allow squads like

 • EV Attack: Fletcher, Fragger, Sawbones
 • EV Defense: Bushwhacker, Skyhammer, Aura
 • Non EV Attack: Proxy, Phoenix, Nader
 • Non EV Defense: Bushwhacker, Nader, Sparks
 • Execution: … i dunno, i don’t play it

Which you can just quickly switch to when the map changes and sides are declared.

Any loadout cards specified in a squad is off limits. You wouldn’t necessarily need to favorite them because they’re “saved” for each scenario.

That would be useful indeed, but as a game mechanic it’s a lot more work to implement and requires it’s own additional UI. In the short run at least, I’d just like a simple way to make managing my useful loadout cards easier.

Agreed, it was a feature I was sad to see wasn’t available when I started playing, after I started piling up useless loadouts that mixed with the loadouts I liked.

A simple favorite system like in Borderlands 2 would be enough. You mark your favorites with a star and when you try to trade them, you get a warning.

Also default should be selecting only favorite loadouts when setting up your squad.

Yes this please! Because after the matches. I want to switch to my favorite loadout, as I’ll switch out multiple Mercs. I’ll have to scroll through the many cards I have and to say I have a fairly amount of it. So I’ll be able to get one or two Mercs down. And we have to take people that have laptops, computers that can’t run this game will and it almost takes them 20 seconds for them to choose a Merc and then another 5 seconds to load the cards. With this, it’ll just load the cards you want to play with.

I believe my first post or nearly my first post ever on this forum was asking for exactly this thing almost a year ago. I even got the devs to respond to the request multiple times with one of them even hinting that this would happen and happen soon (this was maybe back in March). Sadly it’s never materialized despite all the UI updates :frowning:

:,C

Still gonna cross my fingers though… hopefully they see this again and find the time to add it, right?

Shortened the main post… maybe this will get it some more attention? :S

This is something I’ve wanted too, also have heard others complain about it also. I just recently lost one of my fave gold plated Proxy card cause i thougth i was trading in the Bamboo one :<
