all my games even rainbow six vegas had a update. this couldnt be just for brink and no one is patching splinter cell conviction and rbsv

so maybe there was a patch that coincided or something but the xbox update from brink has nothing to do with it (i think)

the patch wasnt just for brink. it was for any game that has online functionality. me and my friends have very old games that got the patch today. i am thinking the lag that is subsiding just happens to be coincidence at best. if rainbow six got a patch today aswell and last time i checked they arnt updating that game anymore.

all my games got an update today, it was a microsoft update i do believe not from individual games i think people are speculating that the patch did things it didnt

please do tell because i too am experiencing less lagg and 8v8 matches but someone should set this strait as i was explained too that it cannot be

Your cache only holds up to 5 games worth of updates. So you obviously have not played those games in a while. So it has to update them. My brink was updated and it was still in the cache. I even checked halo reach and it didnt receive an update.

There’s been a system update rolling out gradually in the past week to update the functionality of the DVD drive (and also adds a 1hr idle shutoff option apparently), I got this last week and then Brink was updated for me yesterday. You can tell the difference between a a game and system update because the console will have to restart at least once and will have more than one progress bar for a system update, while game updates tend to be pretty quick.
