Issues with fine tuning update Jan 27th

(zealousHumdinger) #1

My fps has gone down by 15-20 frames with all bare minimum settings which worked fine at 40-45fps before.

And then I see things like this, on Trainyard and the helicopter is invisible in the end.

Haven’t played other maps yet, will post along if I find more.

My issue is that I can’t use my Gold Stokers with bad loadouts to trade-in for a new Stoker.

(Occult) #3

my fps has gone up, only about 5-10 so ehh its nice but the server lag i would get is gone even in eu servers (na player), feels nice to be able to actually wall jump and not lag on the second jump

(spookify) #4

Train gets really bad sometimes no idea why

(BerylRdm) #5

My fps went down too. Significantly.

(RyePanda) #6

Went from 40 frames to 70 frames

I noticed an oddity with Geforce Experience today when installing the new driver. I happened to tab over to the area of Experience that shows the optimal settings for supported games (which Dirty Bomb is) and I scrolled through the list to make sure just about everything they recommended On was actually off (lol). I noticed that One Frame Interval, which I have set to On (and it should be on for everyone who cares about consistent/high FPS), is recommended to Off.

So hopefully you guys aren’t using Experience’s recommended settings for DB or you might be in for a choppy experience. I doubt many people do but I’d wager it’s the cause of more than one person’s FPS issues in the past.

Pretty much this, but from 60 to 80. And menus ceased to lagg. Will see if this carries on, builds seem to start lagging more after a week or so for me if they will. No idea why.

Damn… you’re right! :scream: :

(MarsRover) #10

WTF. Is that a solution to the problem of getting the exact same loadout? Let me get this straigh, there were at least two ways of fixing it:

  1. Go the customer friendly route and guarantee that the resulting loadout will be different - magnanimously reducing the RNG from 1/9 to “mere” 1/6-8 depending on input loadouts.
  2. Block using cards of the traded in merc.

And they picked option 2? What the shit?

Check your settings, my graphics settings got reset to max, my fps cap got wiped and some of my binds got erased.

My max uncapped fps went from 150-200 to 180-250 with this patch & the annoying menu lag which was introduced when i switched from i5/280x to i7/980ti got fixed aswell.

NO COAL TRINKET

(CCP115) #13

The menu lag was fixed a while back, then they unfixed it, please tell me they fixed it again.

(FalC_16) #14

I have capped my fps to 60 as my monitor’s refresh rate is 60 Hz. There is no point really in having 160 or 100 fps if your monitor can’t handle it. What are the pro’s for capping your fps?

  • lower consumption of electricity (helps a lot if you have beastly GFX cards)
  • less noise in the room
  • less heat
  • smoother experience

I don’t know. Is the frame rate drop that significant? I noticed that yesterdays patch feels like they enhanced graphics a lot!

sorry for double post. Can you pls explain how to get rid of that menu lag? My friend has it. He has 6700k, 980ti…which is kinda ridiculous.

@FalC_16 disable g-sync from geforce’s monitor settings. I did it, and it’s smooth sailing now.
Haven’t noticed any screen tearing since then, anyway, so I’m keeping it like this.

man you are awesome !! Thanks so much for the tip! You are right he has the beast of a monitor ACER which has Gsync. I am sure that is the rootcause then.

(zealousHumdinger) #18

I changed 3 things in ShooterEngine.ini (Minimal settings with Core i7 3.4ghz)

bAllowWeatherEffect = False
MinSmoothedFrameRate=62
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=62

Min was 5 and Max was 62, I assumed 62 was the most the intergrated graphics can push, so I put that in Min too. Now I’m atleast able to push constant 35 and above which is much better than the initial jerk frames.

I still don’t like the too much redness/sunset in Trainyard and other areas of the game though.

I’m having the exact same problem man its really doing my head in, dropping to single digits in 1v1 scenarios is infuriating every update seems to make performance worse and worse in my case…

Oh great. The closed gates was an occasional bug for me. Now it’s a almost always present one.
