BLANK is something we want to do in the future. It’s not on the “short list” however. We have bigger priorities at the moment before we start churning out BLANK.
Oh boy, where have I heard this before.

THISSSSS
I may be the minority but I actually like RNG,it makes rare skins unique and I enjoy the gamble it takes to get them.If everyone could just buy cobalts it would kind of defeat the purpose for me.
That being said the odds need to be greatly improved and worked,no more 0.3% odds kind of stuff,no more duplicate cards being crafted, and better assurance against players going into the more extreme percentiles. If they made the RNG a bit more refined and tweaked for the player it would be perfect for me,but at the moment its a bit too much of a crapshoot and leaves people feeling really sour and taken advantage of which should never occur in a proper business/customer relationship.
Telling people you enjoy self-destructive behaviour is a bad idea when you’re trying to make a point online, mate.

Thats a bit odd to say that all gambling is self destructive, there is a big difference between buying a scratch and win every now and then and putting all your savings on black in roulette.I enjoy when the odds are within certain margins and they’re a bit excessive in DB at the moment.
I like gambling every now and then… but of course, I do it if it’s going to be worth it… and I don’t consider opening 10 Elite Cases being worth of 35€/$ because I’m basically getting nothing out of it.
I do put money on lottery almost every week (as long as I remember)… Not really expecting to win and what do I lose? Whole 1€ instead of 35€.

Not saying all gambling is self-destructive but when you say you ‘enjoy the gamble’ of DB with odds as horrible as it has, I immediately assume you’re either crazy or addicted.
Maybe you should reevaluate those priorities from a business point of view. There seem to be quite a few people here who are willing to hand over some money for cosmetic things. Trinkets are a good start, but they are not really visible to others during the game and thus do not satisfy vanity.
Hats, pants, shoes, large stickers on the back of the merc’s jacket etc seem to work fine in other games. For some of these all you need is an alternative texture, so it might be cheap to produce and bring in some money quickly.
Speaking for myself, the only thing I ever found worthwhile to buy was the Humble Bundle skins. And with the exception of a single random card, there was no RNG involved.
CS:GO isn’t a f2p game and all the items in the game have actual real-life value on them so it’s a dumb comparison. If SD could have a couple of artists working on cosmetics full time there would be new stuff to buy on a regular basis and they wouldn’t have to milk the whales with RNG, people would actually buy nice looking skins if they could.
I can live with rng on the f2p stuff like cases you buy with credits, but when they ask me to pay 5 euros for a case that might have a nice card (Gold(Swiss Red, the others look tacky) /Cobalt) that might be for a merc I play, that might be a decent loadout then it is a bit to ridiculous for me to gamble.
If you could atleast lock a load out case to a single merc that wouldn’t be as crazy rng.
I can get more behind the trinkets, you get what you pay for with those. But I can’t bring myself to waste money on astronomical odds even if I do want to support SD for making a very fun game.
But hey if the current system currently makes them the dosh then yay I guess.
My main issue is one of progression and entitlement.
If I spend 864 cards and 946,000 credits (without buying cases) to craft the wrong Cobalt card, and I see a level 2 running around with the perfect Cobalt card, it reminds me that hard work doesn’t distinguish you from the rest.
I have spent $120 on tribes ascend when I knew what I was getting and I was happy.
I paid a yearly subscription to Quakelive when I knew what I was getting and i was happy.
I have spent $20 on dirty bomb when I knew what I was getting and i was happy (deployables bundle and arty trinket). I will not spend a cent on trying to get skins when RNG is involved. That will only lead to salt.
Im usually okay with RNG for the cobalt etcetera thats part of the game.

but not for things like that. I mean thats a limited edition event and the card that i struggled to drop i wont even use it. I got R22 in Elite Cases and just dropped R51 for my 9 boosters. Thats a fuckin joke. But well I shouldnt expect anything more.
I would say spending money would “Silver” to salt. :^) . RNG would LEAD to salt thou ^^

This.
It’s actually pretty sad that neither your involvement in this game nor your skill and achievements mean absolutely nothing when it comes to rewarding. And when you decide to pay some money to support devs, you, in most cases, earn a random silver card. For 5 euro. Right.
In spite of my protests, I’m actually not in favour of completely getting rid of RNG. At the end of the day, the game is f2p and RNG boxes are a great money maker. The multiple layers of RNG we have (Buy a case, hope for the right merc… and then the right loadout… and then consider rarity… and on top of that the skin). They need to cut that back before it’s even remotely tempting for me, on top of it costing far too much for 5-10 loadouts.
Raziel’s post that further customization is on their list of desired things but not a priority right now has, honestly, given me a little more patience with the whole thing. I’d rather they get the game to a good place with more maps and such - but in the mean time, there’s clearly a market for people who want to buy stuff without having to become broken gamblers in the process. The trinkets and Aimee’s obsidian bundle are a start, but there’s plenty more they can do - they’re just super hesitant because they don’t want to out-do cobalts I suppose.
The dangers of open beta. The moment you go open, people will expect a lot more from you imo.
There shouldn’t be tons of RNG involved with event cards imo. They are going to be limited anyways and boning people with no cards who participated throughout the event is just retarded.
