Is there any official comment?

SD, this is directed at you chaps I’m afraid.

Is there ANY formal comment about all the bugs and issues cropping up in these posts? I’ve been checking the blogs and even Mr Ham had an interview yesterday and I’ve not found a “typed up” review as of yet (I missed it live).

Could the community PLEASE have some kind of official statement - something letting us know WHAT you are doing about this. I’m about to purchase in the UK and am somewhat concerned, as if I do experience all the challenges mentioned, I’ll certainly be expecting a refund.

We all know that Sony was blasted for delaying any form of response for 3-5 days after the PSN went down. Please don;t fall into the same trap.

If there are any official comments from Paul or Richard, or anyone within SD, please could you link me up?

The only other alternative, of course, is to hammer the switchboard number of your offices until I get some kind of useful comment

cheers
Pez

Guys - anyone with a Splash Damage logo in their profile that is chatting on this forum, works here. Any time we see a completely new major bug that we’re not already aware of, we’ll get in touch with the person if it’s not something we or Bethesda can easily reproduce.

Whilst I’m certain that SD are hard at work trying to reproduce then rectify as many bugs as possible, from a consumer’s perspective we’re not seeing anything equivalent of the “activity/percentage indicator” in a GUI, something telling us that “Yes, the wheels are turning and stuff is happening”.

I’m concerned at the recent move of the “tech support” subfora from SD to Bethesda (those subfora only lasted at SD for what, a day maybe?) - whilst I’m sure there was an important reason for this, I think many of us would prefer to hear things (even bad news) from the source rather than through a marketing filter.

For example, could SD at least create/update a sticky with the list of known bugs or bug areas with the status of each? Such as - “reported”, “investigating”, “reproduced”, “fixed in next patch”, etc. It doesn’t have to be highly detailed, just give us some idea that “stuff is happening” (because we’ll see the list changing as it’s updated).

(Living in hope that before the game unlocks for AU/EU on Friday there’s a patch for the various ATI HD4xxx-series problems reported, but sadly resigned to the fact that when the game does unlock, it’s going to be unplayable. :()

Very valid points there Mr E. I would have thought someone like “crispy???” I believe, could manage a thread like that, just listing the status of known/reported errors.

The downside is that it could be a honorific long list, but all little things to patch up shrugs

As I said, it doesn’t have to be a highly detailed list (ie., we don’t want access to everything posted in SD’s Bugzilla or equivalent) but just some idea acknowledging reported bugs and indicating that “stuff is happening”, 'sall.

This is a good idea. I’m not sure how feasible it is, but I will look in to it now.
