Speaking for myself, I don’t surrender matches. I’m need the coins to build out my barracks too much. When it does get completely hopeless, I may go out in a blaze of glory to get the match over quicker, but even then I try to inflict as much damage and/or take out a toon to shift the payout if I can. My impression is that losing after killing at least one enemy toon gets you a better percentage than losing in a take and hold, so I don’t see the point in dragging it out. And sometimes the horse learns to sing.
I’ve had at least one game where I managed to eke out a take and hold victory even though I was outnumbered with less hp. I’ve also blown games that I thought were in the bag, so the other player must have been appreciative of the fact that they played it out!
One thing that does annoy me, though, is when your opponent yields a game in the first few turns after you got a drop on them. (Like if they misplaced a toon and you managed to kill it without exposing anyone.)
I’d rather get a loser’s share of a 1500 coin pot than 100% of the few hundred coins early in the game. If someone wants to yield when the pot is above, say, 800, great! I’ll take it. I’d rather not waste my time choosing a team and setting up the opening moves for 80 coins.
