Does it have 5.1 sound? I cant tell nor see an option in the sound settings for 5.1. Im using Fatal1ty Headset and XFI Extreme Gamer sound card using that 3D audio option (cant remember what its called but works in all other games, it mimics 5.1 surround in your headphones).
I ask because the sound is meant to awesome in this game, you can tell if someone is light medium or heavy bodied by their footsteps!
I would like to know that, too. Unfortunately there are no advanced sound settings 
s_numberOfSpeakers shows that “6” is default.
This is shown when I am using my Medusa NX 5.1 USB Gaming Headset, but also when I am using my standard stereo boxes.
Is there a way to (manually) change it to 5.1 speaker setup?
Gonna try that command with various values and throw a nade or two on an empty server in different directions to test it, or have a friend walk around me.
Could SD also include advanced sound options in the next patch? I usually don’t like to play around with configs.

mine works, i have klipsch promedia 5.1 setup and im getting surround sound without enabling any cvars.
stupid question but is your headset 5.1? its not difficult to tell if surround is working… you get sound from all directions. well with my setup anyway i can hear sound perfectly via each speaker and can tell direction of sound clearly.
I don’t want to trust my ears

It is so annoying that many games don’t have an option for 5.1
Im experiencing sound problems with 5.1.Sounds are lestened from the right direction.
A lot of times i hear my own gunfire firing from the rear rigt side.
They should fix this it’s a 2011 game fgs
