Is the Xigncode malware?

I love the game but recent information about this has made have a distrust of the game being on my PC. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NProtect_GameGuard

Is there anyone that could confirm this?

Also apparently it installs a rootkit

It is used to check background processes , i assume …Probably checking for injectors n stuff !

Any anti-cheat software is going to have privs to check for certain things on your PC. The question is what exactly it checks and how much information does it collect and send. It’s kind of the price you pay to play a competitive game online. Some AC’s are more intrusive than others but they all will be somewhat intrusive (VAC) to heavily intrusive (ESEA).

If you can’t stand the idea of something like that on your PC then you might want to stay away from most MP games that use an anti-cheat.

DB doesn’t use GameGuard, it uses xigncode3

Well could I get a little more info on what Xigncode 3 does specifically?

so far it’s stopped about 30% of players being able to start the game, but it does allow any hacks. it is essentially as intrusive as GG, , but neither are the portals of doom people like to believe, they poke around a lot but I don’t think they collect much data

I would guess it’s on par with pretty much all anti-cheats for snooping
