Is the potent packs augment for Sparks useless?

(RyePanda) #1

The augment gives 20% quicker regen from healing abilities. But Sparks packs don’t give regen. So does the augment not affect Sparks at all?

(Ardez1) #2

This is believed to be correct, yes. Not sure if they have some other ancillary effect, but I believe that augment currently does nothing. Similar situation to Fletcher having Lock On.

Kinda weird they apply certain augments to loadouts which don’t benefit the merc in any way.

Are you kidding… it’s another useless augment? This game…

It isn’t s useless augment, just a poorly assigned one. This may be intentional as a ‘filler’ augment on those loadouts or it may just be faulty design.

It is a useless augment on her, and it’s a poor design. If you guys haven’t picked up on it yet, each class of mercs (fire support, medic, engineer, recon) tend to share a pool perks. Some are completely useless because one of the mercs works very differently from the rest.

Just another poorly executed idea by Splash Damage and more proof that the loadout system needs a massive overhaul.

Companion Agent is great with out it :stuck_out_tongue:
But I can’t imagine what it would be like with an even better augment :open_mouth:

Sparks is a medic, this is a medic augment. So it was just hastily thrown in a mix(or pulled out from a pile, depending from a point of view) and now it remains there, forgotten.
Ppl has been complaining about it literally from day 1 of Sparks release.
Best proposition, imo, was that it should simply increase her medpack potency by those 20%. Its not much(7 to 9 hp), but her medpacks are so weak, that even that little would go a long way. Id prefer 20% faster medpack regen, tho.

should be increased 20% heal on her packs not 20% over time, then it’d be a pretty decent perk.

Chill out mate, the game is not finished and SD are only human, they make mistakes. Let’s hold off on the pitch forks.

if potent packs works correctly, then cooldown is a bit useless.

why?

with cooldown it takes 32s to heal 100hp
with PP it takes 33.3333s to heal 100hp, just you have less off time because you spend less time throwing packs, thus making PP the better choice.
not only because of time investment vs reward ratio, but also because healing for 30hp instead of 25 can make a difference in sticky situations.

cooldown lets you place up to 7 packs on the ground, how this is useful? i dont know.

cooldown does not seem to benefit the revivr at all currently, i didnt notice any change in amount of charge drained and no change in how long it takes to cooldown when overheating.

Few more useful perks wouldn’t hurt. Some loadouts needs some love too, even if you forget about some buggy perks or those which don’t apply.
