Is the ability bug being fixed any time soon?

As im sure you know, there is a bug that effects phoenix/guardian/vasilli/skyhammer and possibly more

For phoenix and guardian, its when the charge gets stuck and u need to spam the key/lmb in order to use it (super annoying)

And for skydaddy/vasilli you have to throw it multiple times (because it disappears in thin air), which is super annoying too

So whats the plan on this bug? ;/

When this happens with Phoenix i assumed it was because of lag.

According to reliable source

client-to-server-back-to-client net code has gone bonkers.

too many net traffic events are being ping-ponged back and fourth inna move to combat cheaters (blame the laziness of EAC for not doing their job of UE3 integration properly). the ping-pong exchange gets lost somehow in a stack of event processing and thus the game engine get’s stuck on a status of an action that does not end or fails to complete.

Because any idiot can claim stuff on the internet and it would add to your credibility. Currently your word is worth as much as saying the moon full of lizard ppl plotting to take over Mars.

I play skyhammer a LOT, like a LOT (around 50ish hours I think), and I’ve never noticed any bug using his abilities, the only thing that annoys me with him is when the marker ends up beneath the EV when you’re trying to throw it fast in the middle of gunshots, it works as a nade then and does not trigger the airstrike, that should really be fixed. However, that was a REAL bug, because it wasn’t obviously meant to happen, but it did anyway because of how models work in the game, the issue you mentioned is somewhat common during lag (Happened to me few times). When I’m in a laggy server, or when I’m lagging myself (Not blaming the net code), the marker just disappears, the model shows that I threw it, the cooldown is triggered, but the marker is nowhere to be seen, PURELY because of lag, nothing to related to how the game works. And in case you want to know, it also happens to every merc that has deployables (Stoker, Nader, Javelin, Aimee, Vassili, Proxy, Fragger, Thunder and Fletcher). So what @K1X455 said is partially correct, it’s because of lag, but not because of the net code (if you’re not lagging you will NEVER face such problem).

I took it with a grain of salt.

Unless I can use a debugger to see what’s actually happening, I’ll just have to rely on what I see by video evidence.

Marker under EV is intentional and dates back through SDs titles back to ET. There you could even stand on a marker to prevent the airstrike, taking one for the team.
Lorewise the skyhammer drone has no visual on the marker and thus doesnt get called in.

I have seen the issues when servers are dying and moving into the red connection symbol (which happend a few times in the last days). But as others said, it doesnt happen if you got a stable connection to the server. Fix your inet :wink:
