Is Phoenix OP?

I don’t think he is at all (his famous ability is easily counterable) but he’s super fun. But some have said he is so here’s the question:

From my observation, the only time I really see Phoenix being called op, is when a player pulls off a fully charged pulse when a team is pushing the last few seconds of an objective.

During the rest of the game, Phoenix makes for a really sub-par medic due to his long cd for full pulses.

His self revive only gets real use when his body falls behind cover or you get players who compleatly ignore downed enemies and don’t finish them off.

Phoenix is possibly the most balanced at release merc yet and definitely one of the most balanced in the game atm. I do not find him to be UP or OP.

He could use a reduced cooldown when switching from healing to anything else, in the case you go to heal someone and they rudely die. Happens a lot.

u wat?

Most unimpressive medic in the game honestly. The self revive is nice but most of the time it just ain’t gonna happen.

I hate it when that happens. “Just duck behind cover you idiot!”

Nah I don’t think so. They got it right in my opinion. He’s a viable medic and a alternative to Sawbonez, Sparks, and Aura.

Phoenix has significantly above average effectiveness in skilled hands, but this is more an indication of how bad the average player is than Phoenix being OP. Basically, Phoenix allows a good player to be his team’s primary combat class, his team’s medic, AND his own reviver.

And as easily counterable as self-revive is, it still has reasonable value in team fights. Every additional moment spent finishing Phoenix is one less moment they spend attacking the rest of your team.
