Just something I’ve noticed lately.
The maps don’t seem to have any “Light Bodytype Only” locations. I can pretty much get everywhere with my Medium.
I know Light is slightly faster, but the loss in HP just aint worth that. I thought they said Light could get where others can’t.
Well, where are the pathways and shortcuts that Lights can boldy go where no medium has gone before?
Anyone know of any?
Not that I know of. The maps really dont take advantage of the SMART system which is a shame really! I hope the maps coming with the DLC will do something about this. And maybe they tweak the current maps a little and add some path ways for light only while balancing, though thats unlikely.
Erf… What? Ofc it’s worth it! I’d say, it’s too much worth it, tbh. I’d advise to raise Heavy and Medium speed to even things
I think the body types will come into play when you are in a team of friends or clanmates, then you get the heavies to clear the way and the lights snag the loot and bolt it back to base.
But for pub play, med is better.
walljumps! 2 or more light body types doing insane walljumps insync… got to love that.
The speed is obviously an advantage. But that has nothing to do with SMART, run speed is hardly anything new. With a system as SMART I think the maps should be more based around that giving the different body types several different path ways, they dont as far as I know. If they do I would like those specific places pointed out.
only difference between light and medium are walljumps and speed, so why should the light get anywhere the medium can’t? you can use the walljumps to create shortcuts yourself, there are a couple of places where you can simply walljump as a light, to close a gap for example, where you have to climb/jump down and climb/jump back up as a medium.
don’t ask me where those places are, play the game and find them yourself, it’s part of the fun! and i don’t want to know everyone which shortcuts i use^^
edit: and there are ledges where you have to walljump to reach them, medium and heavy have to take the stairs or climb a different obstacle first.

Light is the most popular class with your tourney players so far. Watch Brink TV everyone is playing light for the speed boost. I think a better thread would be medium is it worth it and why is heavy so worthless?

Perfect example of “there may be more into Brink that you first have thought”. Exactly the type of details put in by SD that can be used, or not, but will be tried and tested by players.

carb-9 is the best gun anyway
smaller hitbox makes up for slightly lower health
I hope that the map they showed throughout the cinematic trailer will eventually be seen. It just seemed so great for SMART’ing the **** out of everything. I’d love to see the ark too.
The maps all have HEAPS of routes that are Light only, and a fairly good amount that are open to Mediums and Lights - there are very few areas only Lights can access, but there are some, just like there are some Heavies can’t reach but the others can - not huge amounts, but enough.
And really, asking US to spoil the system for you? No thanks - it’s MUCH more rewarding to look for them yourself and find your own paths - remember to use a wallhop for a MAJOR distance boost on jumps - you can almost double your jump distance when you do it right.
