if your really intent on buying the game wait for a holiday sale if the game drops to 30$ or below grab it but don’t pay anything more for it it’s not worth it.
Is it worth buying Brink now?
@OP:
If you don’t mind playing against bots, sure.
If you demand online play and you don’t have any friends who play the game, probably not.
It was never worth buying! DON’T BUY!
Feeding ducks with your money is less wasted than buying this game. Additionally no one plays it anymore, apart of 550 casuals and a bunch of console players.
Nothing got fixed, so save your money for the really good games this fall. You know what I talk about
Btw, I am excited to read the first retarded comment from a Brink fanboy to my post :D
so even given the larger console population brink is still dwindling or without promise regarding its playerbase. you can’t really say there is any guarantee or even a safe bet you will find enough people for console matches 2-3 months from now. buy cheap now, get in while it’s still good and move on? err, that’s just to address numbers, the gameplay is another beast. brink sold well but there seems to be a great deal of buyer remorse especially since many of the buyers were targeting SD’s experience and strengths and SD was targeting something else entirely.
if you are playing on console and reading these forums then casually glance upon each recent positive post about brink. the quality of those posts will reflect the quality of player you will most likely being squaring off against in the game. yes, any inference is meant to be a double edged sword.
Well apparently full games are possible on console, it just means that you need to add a lot of strangers to your friends list and organize a time to get together and play. Nothing wrong with that if you can be arsed doing it, but does seem to be a bit of an effort. I guess if you like the game that much then the effort will be worth it.
On Steam today, players peak today :
356 BRINK
61,340 Counter-Strike
I said that but I’m a fan of ET and ET-QW

Just recently installed Source after 6 years. And oh man, back then I really liked to play it, but now?! I played 40 minutes and deinstalled it again. The movement system is so bad. The settings/maps are so ridiculously improper. I’ll never get back to it. And compared to CS, Brink is so rich in everything(concept, visuals, abilities, weapons, character customization, mood, dialect/voice of chars and so on and so on.). Its so far superior, I’d even play against bots than one further minute of CS(though it was pretty good and entertaining when it came out).
