I am not sure, but could it be that the spawn shield sometimes stays on for 2 seconds even if you start to shot? If have the feeling that nowadays freshly spawned/revived players can shoot you without losing the shield instantly. Anyone else have the same experience?

It is possible. Because noone knows what’s bugged and what not and if something is bugged as long as SD does not confirm or deny it. It’s a miracle with those bugs in the last time.
I thought that was a thing though, or is it a bug?
I thought the spawn protection was X amount of time and if someone started to shoot it just removed the protection sooner, but not instantly?
At least that’s how I thought it worked, and how it does work as far as I can see, so if it’s not supposed to work like that then yeah it’s bugged.
I do think the spawn protection should be removed from revives though (or at least made shorter). Quite often people are getting picked up just in time and then they have that 1 second window or whatever it is where they can shoot without taking damage and it’s just annoying.
It’s bugged ever since it was introduced. You’ll notice it predictably when Phoenix self-revives and he gets ambushed by another player.
I checked the Wiki and there it says in the New Players Guide:
“When revived you have a Spawn Shield protecting you from damage that lasts for 2s, but will be canceled if you perform a Combat action or use an Ability”
And in Fine Tuning 2:
“Updated 4-second Spawn Point invulnerability - If a player fires, they are dropped to a 50% damage shield rather than losing it entirely.
This change does not impact medic revives”
So this would mean that after a revive the shield should still only last 2 seconds and only if you do not use a combat action. I am pretty sure I saw enemy mercs shooting directly after a revive at me with still the red shield above them.
Or has there been another update?
It is bugged then. In our 5v5’s yesterday I had a rage at the fact that I couldn’t reach a Fragger to gib him, and when he was finally revived he started shooting me despite the fact I was shooting him and doing no damage what so ever because he had some kind of spawn protection.
If it’s supposed to cancel the spawn protection the moment they shoot, it’s definitely bugged right now.
