I might totally be missing something but gamservers.com seem to be going down a lot. My server included since I rent with them. I’m wondering if I should use another service, or is this happening across the board?
Thanks

I think it is Just_You, we are having fantastic success with them and have had for the last 5-6 games and 4-5 years of being with them…
It’s not just you theyre not that great of a company, theyre big and a lot of people use them but that doesnt mean theyre a quality company. Im using hypernia for my server and have had little to no lag and i believe its for a cheaper price as well. Its 15.20 for a 16 man server with hypernia and i believe its what 22.00 for a 16 man server with gameservers.com? Least i think im remembering that correctly. My experience with gameservers was about a year ago with cod black ops, and it goes a little something like this. At first theyll treat u like royalty, but after uve been with them a while u begin to get treated like a red headed stepchild. No offense to the gingers out there lol. But seriously go with another server provider theyre terrible.
If you’re basing you opinion of gameservers on Brink, then I can tell you it’s Brink and not gameservers. The server side seems to be patching on a daily basis. While patching, the servers become unavailable, but gameservers still shows the server as being up in their Web panel.
game servers isn’t that good IMO. I had a couple of servers with them back in the day on Day of Defeat Source. Had lag issues a lot. We also had a vent server with them that we had to get constantly moved because they kept saying “Oh that box is overloaded, that’s why it’s crashing”…
Anybody remember the black ops release either? Gawd that was bad. Gameservers overloaded the hell out of their boxes then too.
Gameservers is the McDonalds of GSP’s.
Try Hypernia. Best prices and kick ass hardware/customer service.
If you have extra money, then NFO Servers is by far the best GSP out there. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Unparalleled service, hardware, tech.
Gameservers only gives you enough to get by imo. Look at the black ops ded server fiasco. We have been using rates in games of 25000 since, damn, I remember using it in Soldier of Fortune 2, because anything less is laggy, yet GS decided to set all the blops servers to 10000, causing insane lag for everyone who rented from them or played on a ded server. They are cheap and will try to get away with cheap stuff. For instance, asking for your gameserver to be set to a higher priority, and paying more for it. If more than one server on that box buys that perk, it nulls it out. lol
Dont like um.
They are probably the worst game server provider out there, they are huge and have a monopoly on alot of games, provide poor support, cram as many insances of a game possible onto one box, the servers constantly crash or restart, the control panes are piss poor and the latency is bad aswell, probably coz they use windows server 2003 and they price stuff too high.
Basically if you choose any server company make sure its a linux based server box, far supirior performance and hit reg.
They suck, go to lowpinggameservers.com
Theya re doing a 20% off sale. 16 slot brink server is like 15 bucks a month. I have 2 servers from them and they rock.
12 bucks for 16 at Hypernia
And that isnt even on sale. That’s their normal pricing.
2 friends take a server on gameserver and the both are unplayable !!! to laggy !
gameserver sucks for the moment
I wait for the linux server ! much better usually
Gameservers.com are really bad. They don’t have datacenters in top gaming countries. They lack knowledge and basic know how of not only game servers but servers too. They give auto-responses in support tickets. They don’t compensate their customers for bad service. They blame everyone else. They can’t write scripts that automatically restarts servers. They cant write a front end that doesn’t look like '96 special olympics in HTML programming. The list goes on.

I just ordered one server for brink at Hyrpernia. Do you have any idea how long it takes to set up? Can’t find it in their FAQ. Thanks
Its not just you. I have tried doing business with them 3 times now, including Brink, and their support is horrible, and most of the interactions I had with support staff showed me that they have no clue what they are doing. Will never go back to that company…ever.

Eh, I’ve had bad experiences with them. They overload their servers sometimes.
The cost at lowpinggameservers.com with their coupon code (20LPGS) is $12.67 a month for a single core 16 slot server. Add $5 to go up to dual core. I have a single core one and it runs fine.
Wow my server at Hypernia has been up for the past 6 hours, it’s FULL and hasn’t crashed.
Unlike my Gameservers.com server. Which was started at the same time and is now DEAD.
Both servers have default configs apart from server name, rcon pass and mapvote rules.
