Is it just me or this game runs horribly?

maybe it’s just me but for a rather closed off linear corridor shooter this game runs really really really bad. i get around 20 FPS whether i have my setting to full or disable some features at 1680X1050.

my rig is
CPU: Q6600 2.4ghz (quad core)
RAM: 4GM
GPU: HD4870 512mb
OS: win 7

while i can run AC:B , Crysis 1 or 2 , just cause or any other new game on very high settings, this game is giving me more problems than any other while maintaining pretty mediocre graphics and doesnt seem to include a lot of polygons or great view distance so i dont get WTF is going on.

i have installed the DX that came with the game.

any suggestions?

Look in this thread started by dommafia - you may need to apply a fix for your graphics card.

ATI is having trouble with this game. Most prominent in these problems seem to be the gridding issue and heavy performance issues. Try installing the new hotfix drivers: 11.5a. If they don’t work, try 11.5, 11.4, 11.3 and 11.2 drivers. You could also try disabling shadows with r_shadows 0 in console, which is opened by ctrl+alt+key left of 1, I think it’s ~ on American keyboards. (correct me if I’m wrong). If you throw +com_allowconsole 1 into your launch options, you should be able to open console with just the key left of 1.

adding the hotfix didnt help at all. the game still runs like poo with everything turned off on 1680X1050. there is no reason for this besides faults on SD’s side. and im not going to play without shadows. this game should run at 30FPS at least on this kind of resolution with shadows on so im not going to except it doing any less.

i hope there’s a new driver soon or this game will be re-sold.
